I recently moved into a home that has rocks with many years of dirt build-up. So much so that the dirt is very visible in the rocks and there are a lot of weeds. Trying to rake the rock in order to push the dirt to the bottom didn't work well. I've instead been scooping up the rocks and sifting them with this pan. The dirt, debris, and smaller rocks fall through the sifter, leaving the bigger decorative rock. This is slow work, but weeds are much slower to come back and it's like having new rock. I have used finer mesh sifters, but those are slower and I do not mind rocks smaller than .5 inch being sifted out with the dirt and debris. This is the perfect size sifting pan for my needs.

I liked it when I first got it, but the plastic broke on the bottom side. I used it for about a week & a half. I would rather have a metal one.

We are using this to sift material to make soil blocks. It works fine. Put it on top of a bucket and shake away. Lightweight, durable and it looks like to should last a long time. We just finished using it to make about 800lbs of material that we'll use to make soil blocks, and it still looks like new.

I bought this to quickly sort through old mostly empty bags of lump charcoal so I can discard all the tiny pieces that clog my air vents in my kamado grill, it works well, is very sturdy and engineered far beyond my intended purpose. I don’t regret buying it at all, it’s a huge time saver since it fits easily over one of the many extra 5 gallon buckets I’ve got laying around the garage.

I like that the device is small enough to cover a 5-gallon bucket into which the filtered material drops. However, I also found that the small size means the best way to process material is with my gloved hands. If you don't want to get your hands in the compost, then look elsewhere. I don't mind so I'm good.
