I took the stick hiking and it did the trick. It's sturdy and helped me keep my balance on uneven ground both uphill and downhill. The rubber part on the bottom stays on even in rough terrain. It's also works well just for taking a walk. I like to take pictures on hikes so I would occasionally switch hands with it. The strap works well. I'm a big fan of wolves so I have to admit the hand carved design was part of the reason I choose this. Yeah it's a crude wolf likeness, but kind of unique.

I like the walking stick. My wife and I walk in an area that has dog attacks, so I bought it to fend off critters. It’s sturdy and the metal tip may come in handy at some point.

This is a nice Walkingstick.Pros - It’s light and is at the right height for someone at 6 feet tall. You can switch to a rubber end for walking on concrete or hard surfaces or you can take the rubber and off and use the spike for muddy or icy conditions. The cord wrapped at the handling height helps for grip.Cons - this stick is made of pine, simply pine, not hard pine, just simply pine. So I don’t think it’s going to be a hardwood. The stick would be much heavier if that was the case. The cord wrapped on the handle area is simply cotton cord not parachute cord ( nylon) that you get on the more expensive walking sticks. All in all, it’s a fairly nice Walkingstick. I gave it four stars because of it being made of pain and I’m concerned about its longevity.

para el costo tal vez es mejor un palo de escoba , el acabado es muy rudimentario , es algo pesado ; era para un regalo y a la persona que se lo dí no le gustó

My senior mom bought a walking stick similar to this one that was made by a local man. Her older sister loved it, but we've not been able to locate the local man who makes them. I'm guessing he mostly works in the summer. So I had this idea to pick one up for my aunt when we went to the beach. Surely someone at the beach makes these? Nope. No luck. By this time, my cousin, mom's nephew, was also wanting one. She had told them she would get them one at the beach. A few days before we left the beach, I looked here on Amazon and saw these. I placed the order and both sticks were waiting on our porch when we got back from the beach. I pulled them out of their boxes, threw the boxes away and well, told my aunt and cousin that we got them at the beach. I didn't have any fish tales to tell about the trip, but did have a few stick tales to tell. Had no idea Amazon would have these. I would rate this stick very close to the one my mom has by the local guy. Very good quality for the price. Mom paid over twenty for hers. Amazon never seems to let me down when it comes to hard to find gifts.
