Product Description

Sea to Summit stands for a culture of design perfectionists who develop ingenious, functionally beautiful products with an independent, free-thinking Australian attitude. We strive to create equipment that is nimble and light, but serious enough to deliver when called into duty. Gear that works just that little bit better, so you may find yourself inspired to take the less-traveled road more often.

Ingenious. Functional. Reliable. Unconventional. Inspiring.

The THERMOLITE Reactor Fleece sleeping bag liner is a luxuriously soft and super warm liner that can bump up the warmth of your sleeping bag considerably. It can also be used as a stand-alone sleeping bag in warmer climates and has a quarter length zipper to control temperature and allows the user to get in and out of easily. The hollow core fibers that make up this fabric trap heat effectively, keeping you toasty warm.  If you're looking for a high warmth to weight ratio or a lightweight summer bag, this is an ideal choice.

THERMOLITE FABRIC

The Reactor Series Sleeping bag liners and the foot boxes of the Women’s Trek, Talus and Latitude Sleeping Bags use hollow core THERMOLITE fiber to add warmth. Hollow cores fibers trap extra air for insulation (just like the hollow-cores of polar bear or caribou fur). Knitted THERMOLITE fabric is soft and stretchy and comes in three different weights: 80g/m² fabric used in the Reactor and the underside of the Compact Plus liners; a 110g/m² fabric which is used in the Extreme, and the core and foot box of the Compact Plus liner; and the Fleece, the warmest of all the fabrics.

O.M.G. This was a life saver on a winter backpacking trip. If you want to camp in the cold, you NEED this liner. It’s warm, cozy, easy to use, easy to clean…. My dog got into my sleeping bag with me and it’s safe to say that she approves too!

i have been trying to find the right combination of heavy socks, down pants, 3 season bag, and bag liners. on a recent backpack trip i used this one for the first time. temps were in the low to mid 40s. this liner kept me toasty without sweating. am not crazy about the bag within a bag situation but this worked just fine for me.

I bought this liner to use as a lightweight summer sleeping bag. We camp just about every weekend and this summer has been pretty warm, too warm for my traditional sleeping bag. This is very compact and light weight. It works well as a summer sleeping bag. It takes up very little room in my backpack and washes well. It took a little getting used to the mummy style, but there seems to be enough leg room. My only complaint is the arm/shoulder room. It seems a bit snug, but not too bad. I wish the zipper went down further, it’s a little tough to get into the bag while lying in my tent. I think this will be a good addition to my regular sleeping bag for colder weather this fall.

Overall impression: Good, but overpriced.Pros: Well made. Light to carry. Warm.Cons: Overpriced for what you're getting. While it will increase the warmth in your sleeping bag, I doubt it will provide the high insulation that the company claims. Stuff sack is a bit small, but it does fit when tightly rolled.

This liner is worth it. Added a solid 15-20 degrees to my sleeping system. Recently did a two night backpacking trip, lows in the mid 30’s both night. My bag is a 40 degree model (I normally get chilly in it at around 50 degrees by itself.) I stayed comfortable enough with the bag and liner in the 35 degree chill. To address the “you can see through it” reviews; yes, if you hold it up to the light you can see through it. It still keeps you warm! I wonder if these people even tried it first!

As I get older, I dislike being cold at night more and more. I camp every month with the Boy Scouts here in Southeast Alaska. Very humid and temperate climate. Lots of wind too. I got the liner the day of our March campout. I was excited to see how it does in my North Face Aleutian 0* bag. Under the bag I use the Klymit insulated luxe pad. February's temperature was warmer than March's tempo on the campout. I remember Being warm on the Feb campout. So I wasn't worried too much for March, even though it was colder out. The first night with the liner was AWESOME! I was toasty warm. I had the sleeping bag partially unzipped to maintain a comfortable bag temp. It was great. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to add a season to their current bag.
