I modify and use them as "overflows" for kitchen sinks. First, I remove the back nut, on the threaded part of that nut, I cut it at about a 45 degree angle. Then using an old clothes iron, I melt both cut ends, and join them together to create a 90 degree joint. This is usually needed in the lack of space under a stainless sink. This particular type works well for this situation, as the screened part unscrews from the unit, so then I can push the back part through the hole I made, and thread on the screened part (using copious amounts of silicone on both sides) and then tighten. I prefer the 5/8 or 3/4 inch size, this hooks to a short hose that goes down to an ABS dishwasher fitting inflow on the pipe above the "P trap" below the sink. The size is important, the bore must be able to exceed the amount of water coming out of the sink spout. You may not think this is required or necessary, but you will, after the first time you forget the kitchen sink on, and you have to pay the insurance bill! This "upgrade" came from years of working in at 120 plus retirement apartments, old people forget! I literally had hundreds of floods, (I lost count!) from kitchen sinks before I came up with this. The most expensive was 6 apartments had to be rebuilt from one sink! After I installed them, NONE ...at least not from kitchen sinks! Now, if someone could come up with a "unpluggable" toilet!

I needed a replacement thru hull mount for a livewell aerator. Since I couldn't locate an original for my boat, I used this one as a replacement. Seems to be a decent product and installation was a breeze.

Actually it's working pretty good but it's hard plastic not nylon stretchable but it's been okay so far it's actually work good just said it's going to break if it breaks not nylon which would bend it's rigid plastic but so far so good work for me
