I've been using these for many years. They do preserve your boot soles which is critical for binding function. They are also easy to store in a pocket compared to other similar products. They help walking traction to some extent but I've taken some slips while wearing these so don't get too careless on ice. Also no matter how careful I am to make sure they're on securely with the toes and heels seated properly, they still manage to flop off so you really want to keep an eye on your feet if you're walking a long distance, otherwise you'll be retracing steps or buying a new pair. Protip: check lost and founds, they usually have spares.

This is my third pair of Cat Tracks. My ski boot size went from 27.5 to 26.5. I think I was properly measured for my 26.5 ski boots and my old Cat Track were too stretched out for my new boots. I love my Cat Track for two basic reasons: the first is that they save wear and tear on your boot soles and second they prevent you from slipping on ice and snow while you are walking. Highly recommend using Cat Tracks.

I have been using Cat Tracks for years. They definitely will extend the life of your ski boots by not allowing your heel and toe plates to wear out. My boots are 10 years old and still going strong.I can't understand how some reviewers could have possibly lost one while walking in snow, unless they were not put on properly in the first place. Also, for those that complained about how hard Cat Tracks are to put on, did you bother to read and follow the instructions? For larger ski boots, it is recommended to "soak the Cat Tracks in hot water to soften the plastic. Stretch them onto the boots and allow to set overnight." Using this method, I have never lost one and they only take a second or two to install on the boot.

I ORIGINALLY had a set of the competitor to these. Those were big, heavy and clunky. The were hard to get on the boot and wouldn't stay on when walking. They were too large for my boots and the next size down was inches too small. I had to twist the band between the front and rear halves to shorten them a bit so they'd clip on at all. All in all they were a good idea but a poor product. These are just the opposite. Everything that was wrong with the others is right with these. When you get to the ski lift these pop right off and are compact enough to go in my coat pocket. The only slightly inconvenient thing is that being older I need to sit down to get them back on for the walk back to the car. A younger, more agile individual could probably do this while standing up the same as I do to take them off.Good product. Would highly recommend if you have long walks on pavement in our ski boots.

I bought these to walk across the parking lot from my car to the slopes. They work well by saving the boot sole as well as eliminate the slipperiness in walking in ski boots. The down side is that the Large size fits very tight on the boot. They say it will loosen in a year or two. Thai's good but they are a bear to put on out of the box and when you are trying to put them on after skiing and when they are cold. I added small ropes as suggested by a User and they did help.

Very Difficult to get the on the heel of the boot. They just don’t stretch well. Basically cheaply made. When walking on grated outdoor stairs or hard ground they came off twice. Also don’t expect to get much traction on hard pack snow. I think they are double the price of their true value 5 - 10 bucks.

I was told I should get these after the boot shop saw that the heel of my ski boots was getting worn down. Per other reviewers and the directions, you have to let them sit in hot water and then stretch them over your boots. It won't work if you just try to stretch them over your boots without warming them in hot water first. If you leave them off your boots for a while after the initial stretch they will be hard to put back on. I haven't tried them in cold weather yet but I suspect they will be very hard to get on after sitting in my pocket for a full day of skiing. I also did what other reviewers said and melted holes (via candle and holding a nail with pliers) in the heel and looped a zip tie through to create a handle. I have not tried walking on snow in them yet but so far this is exactly what I was looking for. My boot size is 7.5 and I got a size small.Update: I've have taken these puppies skiing and I am very pleased. Walking on ice and snow is a lot less scary with these on because I don't feel like I will slip at all. Great grip and traction. They are a little tough to fit in my pockets. This is a complaint I have about women's ski gear in general (small pockets). Fitting these in pockets will be less of an issue in men's ski gear which typically have nice large pockets. Based on other reviews I put them in the pockets of my midlayer jacket (which I wear under a waterproof shell jacket) and left them there all day so they are closest to my body thus staying warmer. When I did that I didn't struggle much putting them on at the end of the ski day prior to walking back to my car. I found putting the heel in first is actually easier than putting the toe in first. I store my boots with the cat tracks on.I'll probably get at least an extra 30 days of skiing out of my very expensive ski boots thanks to these.
