Works exactly as the description suggests. I was really surprised to find out that using this device really makes peeling eggs a breeze. Where have you been all my life?? I would recommend to others who boil eggs often and struggle with the peeling part of the egg.

This little chicken design egg piercer works great! It does exactly what it says it does. I hate peeling hard boil eggs, so when I learned that peeling them becomes easier when you pierce the top and/or bottom of the eggs, I went researching for a good egg piercer. This one looked cute and functional (like I mentioned in the headline) and it sure is! Thank God I don't have to peel eggs the old-fashioned way anymore. :D

I find brown eggs are more difficult to peel for whatever reason but I prefer them over the white ones. I got this little tool to help with peeling and while it does help, I've noticed that about 1 out of every 5 or so eggs will explode. I've never had eggs explode when I didn't use this tool. Overall, still a good buy but something to keep in mind.

I’ve struggled with peeling hard boiled eggs for years. I’ve tried all sorts of tips, but nothing works. This thing does the job. The shells practically fall off the egg just by looking at them! I’m gobsmacked at how well this works. Thank you Japan!!!Also, not sure if it matters, but I got the water boiling before piercing and adding the eggs.

I love boiled eggs, but I hate it when they explode. Well, I've been using this amazing device for a number of weeks, and I've used it many times, and I really do think that the number of "eggsplosions" I've experienced has decreased. (There are many versions of this type of product, but I just had to get the one shaped like a chicken and made in Japan. )

Poke a little hole in the end of your egg before boiling, and peeling's a breeze. I used to use a pin, but this works much better and doesn't take up a lot of space in my drawer. I did break one egg out of a dozen the first time I used it, but then I got the hang of holding the egg in a way that dispersed the pressure on it around the entire egg, and no more breaks.The piercing tip retracts when not in use, so it's safe to store.
