Sennelier La Carte is a very nice surface for capturing a lot of pastel color. I couldn't pass this up for approx $35 CAD and the product arrived in good condition.

The quality of the paper is good but the color of the monochrome grey is brown so it had to be returned.

This is nice paper for pastel pencils and colored pencils, no odd texture to interfere with portraits. But I was surprised to see the sand coating wear off at the bottom, showing a shiny white surface. I've never experienced this before. Thankfully, it was only the bottom edge, but at this price per sheet I expect better. Won't take as many layers as the Maimoufin sanded paper, which is much cheaper per sheet. I won't be buying this brand again.

This paper holds more layers of high quality soft pastel than any other, and I have tried them all. ***Do not get it wet;*** the texture will come off. It is made to be used only for dry media. It doesn't matter, because your dry underpainting will stay put and not blend with the layers you put over it.

These were on sale for a great price when I bought them. I use harder pastels (Prismacolor Nupastels and Rembrandt) combined with the Senneliers. The Senneliers are soft but not super soft. Depending on the color, the texture seems to vary in this set but they still do a good job. You can find better soft pastels but for the money these are great.

The pastel card is a firm weight, seems evenly sanded. Looking forward to drawing on it with my Sennelier pastels. The size allows for an average width landscape but is also large enough to be conveniently cut into several small size pieces. Therefore, versatile. The color was a slight disappointment, it is not gray but taupe. Very sandy so when handling, bear in mind that your fingers will get gritty.
