This tool is not worth buying! It’s too soft, a file will cut it easily. Brass dulls it as soon as you start the cut. Might be ok for wood or frozen pudding, but that’s about it. Don’t buy it.

Even with proper and precise alignment and a slow coolant trickle to keep from overheating, these cut off blades rounded over shortly and wouldn't even cut through BRASS!!!!!! GARBAGE

First of all, I don’t think it’s HSS. First cut off job with 1/2 dime size of brass bar, the blade was worn off before cutting off. In order to insert the blade to tool folder which is original Sherline made, it didn’t fit. Height is inaccurate and too high so I needed to grained. Won’t buy again.
