Used these with heatsinks and computer power supply to make a heater this past winter for a stray cat that had been hanging around our house for a while. Five resistors in series and a 20VDC had the large heatsinks at about 90F, enough to keep the cat warm and not burn the cat or anything. Put the heater in a rectangular plastic box with a hole cut on one end. Cat used it every night.

I wired these onto the stock magnaride wires for each shock on a 2018 Yukon Denali when replacing the stock shocks with Fox shocks. Worked great, doesn’t throw any codes.

I bought these to check the capabilities of a used high-power (32 amps) computer power suppy that I bought on eBay.They are probably not capable of 100 watts. I connected them across the 12v. output and they drew about 72 watts (6 amps) and they got extremely hot. They could be mounted on a heat sink which would allow the additional wattage to be safely dissipated. Mine got hot enough in a few minutes to scorch paper!They easily served their purpose, however.

I purchased the 2 ohm/100W set of 5 resistors. After reading the other comments here I was expecting the tolerance to be in the order of 5% or perhaps even worse than that. That is not the case! It is much better than that! I measured all 5 of them and they were all in the 1.97-2.00 ohm range. That corresponds to a tolerance of only 1.5%. In the pictures below I show the measurement of one of them using a 4-wire set up with a calibrated bench meter. For reference, I also show the measurement of a short (my screw driver...). I also measured the surface temperature of the resistor when suspended in air for various power levels (see image). From these measurements I estimate that the thermal resistance of the 2 ohm resistor (100W) in this configuration is about 11C/W (19F/W). Great product!

The resistivity is meassured in 1.9 Ohm for the 2.0 that I've purchased and I was able to set my speakers in a comfy 6.5ohms instead of the 4.6 that I was getting, that was also overheating my amp. The loss of volume was minimal and the heatsink on these things is really overkill. Even at max volume with a pair of KEF Q350 I can hardly feel them warm. Absolutely recommended.

Terminals are strong and mounting holes needed not be tap. I just used a SCREW6_32 computer mounting screw.
