Good to have in a pinch just in case you are ever in an area without a charger and only outlets. This came in handy at a hotel in Vegas where every single charger in the parking structure was full and there was only outlets on the side of the wall luckily I had this.

I carry an assortment of adapters in my EV. There are so many different types of electrical plugs but they are all my “Gas Station”, some are free and some I pay for. This shell adapter converts a 110v standard outlet to fit my high power 240v charger. Of course the charge speed is very slow at 110v but my rule is “ABC always be charging”. I love my EV because it is so smooth and quiet. I have never come close to running out of charge even though it is an older model. Just a little bit of forward planning for my trips and some quality charging equipment like this adapter keep me happily and silently traveling down the road.

Adapted the Shell 40A ETL charger to work as a level 1 charger. Works great and allows the Shell charger to be used anywhere in the case of an emergency and when only available outlet is 120V. Charging will be slow but it is better than nothing. Also the 15 amp circuit will be maxed out so nothing else should be plugged in on the breaker used by the one the charger is plugged in, but that is expected.

If your EV charging equipment only supports a NEMA 14-50 like my Juicebox, you need an adapter like this one to be able to charge at 120V receptacles like public charging outlets. At a few hotels, I have found outlets that the hotels make available to guests to charge your EV and this adapter allows me to use the outlet. Although its not fast, it is better than nothing. At 120V x 16A x 10 hours, that's 19.2kWh added, which is not terrible!The color of this adapter is a very nice blue, which is nice to look at. The adapter comes with a cover to cover the 5-15P side, which I don't find to be necessary.It works great and I have been able to use this adapter multiple times at home and on the road.Highly recommended, as long as you know what you are buying and what this is for.

Very good quality from a well known company. Accepts 14-50 plug and plugs into the standard wall outlet as it should. This is great to have for a 50 amp rv when only 15 amp supply is available. This will allow you to use your shore power to charge up house batteries, use lights, tv, water pump, and one appliance at a time. Depending on the size of your rig, if you have more than 1 air conditioner, you could run 1 of them, or use the microwave. Definitely good to have in your bag of cords and cables in your rv.

Despite what the sales page says, this adapter will not allow you to charge at level 2 speeds from a 120 outlet. As the included paperwork says, make sure your car is set to charge at the lower speeds, if need be, and charger to lower amperage as well, otherwise you may blow the circuit. As advertised though, this adapter will change your wall outlet, NEMA 5-15P into a NEMA 14-50R. Sturdy cable with just enough bend to place where you need it and sturdy plugs that hold well. High quality and gives you charging options for one charger.
