Cute short shepard hooks for lighting or lightweight items. These four hangers come in pieces and screw together. When I tightened them they don't line up with the bottoms but no one will really notice when it's in the ground. The rods are small in diameter so they don't seem really strong but they do seem like they won't bend unless too much weight is hung on them. I think more of flags than plants for these.

This pack of four black shepherd's hook with 1 hanging arm each is made of somewhat heavy steel rods. Putting this together is easy. They are just about 3 foot tall once in the ground. The hanging hook lower as well, so anything hung cannot be too tall, or it will end up on or near the ground. So, it really cannot hang anything over a 2' tall or so. The bottom has 2 short thinner metal stakes, so the hook will not hold anything too heavy. This would be good for a solar lantern or short windchime or small animal feeders or homes. Probably a bit pricey so might wait for a sale.

Exactly as described and exactly as I wanted. I have a dozen plus large Shepherds Hooks; yet, I wanted some closer to the ground ... for ... mice control. UGH! After they cleared a beach lot to build next to me that had never been used since the beginning of time (although I insisted they cut it from time to time), here came MICE .... in my storage rooms, WALLS of my house, my CAR and CAR ENGINE .... everywhere. I've tried everything including initially using sticky pads (NO LONGER) which had me outside with Wesson Oil freeing the little things (exposing myself to disease) as they looked at me and squeeeeeeeled. So, now, I have humane traps, droppings all over my screen porch (as they ate through the floor even), motion alarms, and .... I am using these hooks to hang wind chimes in at last one of their paths. Of course, the hooks are great for plants, lanterns, etc. also!

These are great hooks! I had purchased some solar lighting from amazon and wanted something I could hang them on through out my yard so I ordered these.They are stronger than they appear in the piuctures and are perfect for anything you want to hang. The height is super - 35 inches tall but you actually have an option for a shorter height if you prefer. Each pole is screwed together by combining a top, middle, and base so you can leave the middle out of you want some variation on the height for hanging things like chimes or lights.The hooks stay upright by inserting the 2 pronged base into the ground. I really like these as they do stay put.The hooks are thick metal and well painted. These are going to last alot longer than my other thin ones.

These shepherd hooks are very sturdy and go together easily. To clarify sturdy, these are about a 1/3" in diameter and are designed for light objects. You should not hang a heavily plant of something that has a lot of weight. I am not sure where the weight threshold is, but this is designed to work best for flags, small windchimes, maybe even small plants. The description says 35LBS max, but I think this would be much too heavy. This number might be if you do not use the extension rod. If guessing, I would say that 10LBS might be a better number. The wind is really going to put a lot of stress on this hook with heavy loads. Ultimately, think this hook shines with light weight items as outlined above. You do have the option to use (or not use) the extender rods. The black paint seems to more than reasonable as I have not seen any scratching from everyday use.

I ordered this $23 set of four yard-long Gatsuns shepherd's hooks (Amazon ASIN B0DSZY17PG) intending to hang potted plants. However, they proved too weak for that purpose (see attached photos). And they proved to be non adjustable, despite the Amazon listing clearly stating they're height adjustable. They're not! (See proof in the photos).These four shepherds hooks, while beautiful, are more suitable for extremely light objects such as solar lanterns, which is what I'll likely use these three-part shepherd's hooks for. They are just not strong enough for hanging flower baskets or bird feeders.What I find strange is the center piece has male threaded ends on both sides, preventing any flexibility in length adjustment. If it had male to female threaded ends, users could create longer or shorter hooks. As it is, the only configuration is the intended one.The three-part construction results in weakness at the joints. The hooks bend in the middle because they are held together by only a few screw threads, as demonstrated in the attached photos. While the shepherd's hooks are made of steel, the hollow steel construction reduces their strength. Additionally, the short, spot-welded ground spikes bent when I attempted to hang a flower plant.I had hoped these would support flower plants, but they simply lack the necessary strength. They are certainly aesthetically pleasing, so they're still useful; it's just that they can only hold very light items such as wind chimes might be.For detailed visual information, please refer to the included photos.
