This is quite a well-made piece of equipment but also practical. It comes in a cardboard box together with a set of instructions but it’s so obvious as to how it all goes together though. The metalwork is burr free and smooth; the black coating/finish is good plus all the wheels have brakes on them and lock well. The supplied spigot is the usual dual standard ¼ and 3/8 threaded sizes so should fit most photographic/studio situations. The maximum height is not a concern as anybody purchasing this must know it and not expect it to go several metres in the air. All the clamps feel positive and lock well when applied. The centre stem is spring loaded so doesn’t go ‘down with a bang’ like some stands do. The fold up mechanism is so basic as it is simple so thus making it handy for storage or transporting it. Overall its well-made, sturdy and functional.

Sometimes you need to place a light down low for kick or other lighting needs and this solves that problem. I also like that it's on wheels because that makes moving it around to get that sweet spot much easier. The build quality is really good. Reliable, sturdy, and balanced. There's no wobbling or looseness in the joints, locks, and bearings. I also like that the center column is removable, allowing for lower setups. Just be mindful of the latches. They can pinch your hands if you're not careful. Other than that, this is a great addition to my kit.

Heavy Duty Light Stand with Casters, 23.8-32.9" Removable Foldable Floor Rolling Stand for Low-Angle/Tabletop Shooting, 2.74ft Max Height Photography Stand This is a super duarable rolling light stand. It is what we call a shorty as it has the ability to place fixtures low or close to the ground. The construction is all metal and it feels both very durable and well engineered. I have no second thoughts about throwing it in the back of a truck with all the other stands. I feel like this can stand up to location work with little issue. It's nice to get well built stands as there are so many light duty stands in the world, this feels proper heavy duty. I have used it on several shoots already and it has served well and done it's part to help me earn a living. If you are in the market for a well built small roller I recommend you look at this one. I am grateful to have it, as it immediately earned a place on my set. This is a solid piece of equipment that will serve you well.

So the whole point of these little rolling light stands is that they're short. If you have C-stands or regular light stands and you want to put a light or modifier below hip (or maybe even shoulder) height, you'll probably get annoyed because the minimum height is pretty high, so you have to use an arm pointed down and use too much equipment, space, and effort. These little guys solve that for you.I photograph people and dogs, so I can usually use these for close to all the lighting for dog shoots, or for one side of a diagonal crossflow pattern on a backdrop and for a backlight for humans. It also works for things like curved reflectors for headshots, unless you have a tall person standing.Oh, and for a C-stand, you can also get something like a junior pin to give you a lower minimum height and might think that'd be the same. But I do that, too, and I can tell you that'll still be higher than you can get with these. And it's not adjustable, but these are. And it still takes up more floor space, but these don't.Once you put the casters on, you can just leave them on, so that's only a one-time deal. Then it's quick to pull the springed pins out to snap each of the legs into position. I'll often take the telescoping post off and just put a pin directly on the base, for the lowest height I can get without setting the light on the floor. Just don't expect to use a big softbox at the lowest height.These stands are quite small in terms of the leg length, too, since they don't need as much stability as their higher counterparts. But they're still much heavier than you'd think.All in all, these stands are nice little workhorses if you ever find yourself wanting shorter options. I find myself grabbing these much more often than I expected I would!
