Perfect wired connection for TA4F Shure lav mics like the WL185. Converts 48V phantom power to 5V required for this electret circuitry. Tried the Acacia LIZ-HW Hardwired Headset Microphone Adapter - TA4F to XLR from Sweetwater, didn't work. And they made me pay for return shipping. Should have started with Shure and Amazon. Won't make that mistake again.

I tried to get my Shure PGA31 mic to work using other adapters and even tried to power it with custom electronics to no avail. Then order this adapter and it works great without any more messing around. Noise levels are also incredibly low! And at Amazon's price, they are a steal. Highly recommended!

In these days of need clear video trans mission for meetings or information videos this turns your wireless lav in to something practical.A little pricey for a glorified adapter but what are ya gonna do?

Hard to say anything other than "this is what it is and it does it right". Typical Shure build quality, and it lets me plug my wireless-intended lavaliers into phantom power XLR jacks and run them wired. The side hook is nice if you're plugged in to a long XLR cable, so that it doesn't drag.
