This is a decent pet food mat. It is made of a silicone that is not too thin and holds its shape well. It had no smell when it was removed from its packaging, and it immediately laid flat. It is working well for my cat food and water dishes.

I have nice wood floors and I have taken to feeding my cats upstairs outside my kitchen, due to having a diabetic cat that gets fed 2 times a day around his shots. They used to be fed in my laundry room on the ceramic floors, but times have changed. It is easier to give him his shots upstairs. I have a weird house. My kitchen, dining and living room and 2 of the bedrooms are upstairs. Family room, 2 bedrooms and laundry room are downstairs.I tried feeding them without a mat, but they are messy eaters and I was constantly cleaning up. So this mat entered as a way to save my floors. It does the job with the silicone surface and raised edges. I was limited to the smallest size and for 2 food bowls that is fine. For 3 a bit crowded, but it does the job.Cleans up well and captures the overspill.

This is far better than an absorbent mat. Instead of things possibly being soaked up, and food bits that don't soak up, they just stay in the tray. When it's time to clean the mat you pick it up and let things slide into the pocket corner to be dumped in the trash or the sink. It is amazing! I have a 20 lb dog so I got the medium tray. It is perfect for his bowls.

This is a great little silicon mat. We use it for our duck’s food and water dish and they are MESSY. Previous pads were difficult to remove and clean because of all the water on the pad. This pad has a little pocket where all that water and goop can collect. It makes cleaning up a cinch.

My cat is a messy eater, so a mat like this is important for my sanity. :-) I like the high lip and the curved edges, which are a lot easier to clean than the sharp edges on our previous mat. Honestly, I don't understand the point of the "Residue Collection Pocket for Food and Water," because you don't ever want to let wet residue sit on silicone otherwise it will spawn nasty, smelly bacteria! But at least this collection pocket doesn't get in the way.

I got this mat because my cat likes to remove the food from the bowl first before eating it, so there is always a bit of a mess. The mat makes clean-up quick and easy. Also, further messes are prevented because the bowls stay in place and can't slide around. And any spills that do occur are contained by the raised edge, which is brilliant.Because this mat is made with food grade silicone, it came with a slight chemical odor. I placed it outside in the sun for two days and the odor is gone.I wish I had bought one of these mats years ago. This is a must-have for me as a cat owner.

This is a great little mat, just the right size for a couple of small dog or cat bowls. I like the dark brown color, and it feels durable enough to last a long time. Cleaning is a breeze—just rinse it under the faucet and wipe it dry. That said, I’m not a fan of the “residue collection pocket.” It’s actually more of a hassle to clean than simply folding the mat like a taco and dumping out any mess. However, I do appreciate the raised edges, which help keep everything contained—something many other mats we’ve tried lack.Overall, it’s an affordable and effective way to manage pet messes, and its easy cleaning makes it a solid choice. I’d recommend it—buy with confidence!

Got this to catch the water that sometimes escapes from my cats' water fountain. I noticed the area around the fountain was extremely wet, and I know one of my cats happens to be a messy drinker, but this was extreme. Turns out the fountain intermittently dribbles. Until I can find a decent fountain replacement, this mat will save the day. It is large enough to catch any water flung out by the cat, plus the raised edges will contain the leaking. The mat arrived rolled up, but had no problem unfurling and laying flat. Decent thickness, and the lip around the edge holds its shape solidly. No smell at all--ready to use right away. Good price ($10 at the time of this review) and great quality.
