About this item

  • STERILE SYRINGE FILTERS: Our syringe filter is manufactured for reliable performance, which is sterile Polyethersulfone (PES) needle filters. Each lot of syringe filter membrane is certified by HPLC Extractable Test.
  • FILTER DIMENSION: It is 33mm membrane diameter and pore size:0.22um, pack of 10. Suitable pore size structure for lab sterilization of small volume samples.
  • BACTERIAL CHALLENGE: LRV>7(ATCC 19146, ASTM bacterial challenge test)for each lot of 0.22um pore size membrane. < 0.25 EU/mL or < 2.15EU/device (LAL) for each lot of devices pressure required to empty the syringe.
  • HIGH THROUGHPUT: The larger filter surface area increases flow rate and throughput. It also makes it easier to filter solutions because it reduces the pressure required to empty the syringe.
  • BIOSAFETY: Meets USPBiological Reactivity test for Class VI Plastics. Better to ensure the accuracy of the experiment.

Good Filtration, just be careful not to exert too much pressure or the filter will explode/burst and spray everywhere...

Don't seem to work very well they clog very easy who knows if they're even uniform in the size of filtering they say they do did testing with with the same uniformly turbid water and the other ones with even smaller filterings didn't clog as much as these ones did

Using this product is non-negotiable. It may at first seem a bit expensive, but the cost is inconsequential next to the benefit. You MUST use these filters - and yes, THESE filters. Sterile PES 0.22 micron variety. Because these not only remove particles, they sterilize the solution. These filters screw onto the end of any standard syringe. 10ml syringes work nicely. The tip is perfect for fitting a needle onto, e.g. a 21 gauge needle fits very snug. This means you can directly filter a syringe full of your solution into another syringe, this secondary one obviously being empty and *unused / sterile!* With a fresh filter, sterile needle, and sterile 2nd syringe, the filtered solution should now be inside a totally sterile environment. The importance of this cannot be overstated. You are going to want to do a preliminary filtration before ever involving one of these filters, though. Whether that's through a cotton filter, or by simply letting all the particles settle and separate out from solution and simply drawing up the top layer of mostly clear liquid into your initial (non sterile) syringe. Either way, you only want to push solutions through with as few particles as possible, because those particles will very quickly clog up the filter and prevent any further filtration. IF THIS HAPPENS - pull back very gently on the syringe, and try again - DO NOT try to force the solution through! You will rip the filter! The filter WILL become clogged eventually, that is the very way it works. Compared to other filters, these can definitely handle a lot more particulate matter before getting completely clogged, but they still can only handle a small amount objectively speaking. Regardless, these filters are supposed to be single use only. You can stretch that to 1 day, but do so at your own risk. After the first use, the bacteria and fungi you filtered out (now stuck inside the filter) will begin to grow and multiply. This is why you do not want to use old filters. They are also more likely to develop micro tears and allow bacteria through the older they get. Again, 1 day absolute maximum - even that long should be done at your own risk. Single use only is the official manufacturer recommendation, but it can get prohibitively expensive depending on how often you need to filter something. The quality control is top knotch on these. Very high quality product that is absolutely indispensable. 11/10

Worked well. I pre filter first then use these for final step. Overall I been happy with them and plan on using again. I have used others and these are better quality than most.

These filters worked perfect for what I needed. I was looking for a syringe filter to push my liquid products through so they would be contaminate free. I love the individual packaging. Each syringe filter came in a nice rigid package that made me feel comfortable with its sterility. There's nothing worse than buying something listed as sterile and getting a product that has the packaging broken open...not a worry with these. The best part was the price. These were by far the cheapest I could find online. Some places were charging more than double what I paid for these.
