Simple file guide is simple. Does the job well. I use smaller DMT diamond 'stones' and they just fit if you hold them carefully. My only complaint is how expensive these are for their construction, but there aren't many alternatives.

Go slow and use enough pressure but just enough to keep file cutting. You on need 2 or 3 passes to achieve desired base Bevel. Don't over do it.

As shown in photo, I bought a 1 degree bevel but received a .5 degree one.Additionally, the plastic is very flimsy and it only fits a long file. So if you had a shorter diamond stone, say 80mm, it won't be long enough to hold in place.
