Bought a 9 week old 2.5 lb Yorkie puppy the Saturday after 4th of July, vet recommended she be kept indoors until all her shots were complete. Bought 8 pads of another brand first, they are turquoise, rectangular shaped. Fabric top layer on those is tightly woven/solid and the top layer is somehow stuck solidly (not mesh like this one) for general potty pad use. Quickly discovered I needed puppy containment zone, bought a play yard to keep her out of mischief while I am working from home upstairs and my retired husband is showering, grocery shopping or cooking and cannot mind the puppy during my workday. I tried putting two of them inside her octagon shaped play yard. Really like those pads, but needed one solid pad big enough to cover her play yard, because she was rooting between the two pad layers to get between them. I bought this one specifically for the shape it fits her play yard perfectly but the fabric on top of this one is more like a mesh that is quilted but not stuck to the bottom layers and she has scratched/chewed through the top layer in two spots on this one where the creases from being folded kept it from lying totally flat. Once she got a hold of the top layer of fabric (which isn't stuck to the next layer except where it's sewn) and a loose thread, she continues to try and chew it the minute I put her in the pen. Like the shape & size, it hasn’t leaked but now that she’s chewed two holes in the top layer and just continues to enlarge the holes it’s headed to the trash, as she is only continuing to chew those two spots. Today I found on Amazon another octagon shaped pad that looks like the rectangular pads fabric wise, going to buy one of those and see if I like it as much as the other brand rectangular pads I bought. If your puppy isn’t a serious chewer (Unicorns really exist don’t they?) this pad may work for you, my puppy is attracted to tags and any spot that sticks up or looks different and wants to chew that, so this one didn’t work for me for that reason. It was kind of expensive for a potty pad but I was willing to pay the price because it was large, one solid piece and would fit her pen perfectly. I am disappointed she tore it up but puppies chew things up, so I guess I should be glad it was only a puppy pad I can throw out and not miss and not my kitchen cabinet, sofa or barstool legs etc right?

Purchased to fit with "Pawaboo Small Animals Playpen, Breathable & Waterproof Small Pet Cage Tent with Zippered Cover, Portable Outdoor Yard Fence for Kitten/Puppy/Guinea Pig/Rabbits/Hamster/Chinchillas, Light Gray". Based on measurements, this was the closest liner that was found to be compatible in size and shape. It's actually fits about 1.5" too big, so it goes up the sides of the playpen slightly, which is actually helpful in keeping hay, etc contained. The tiny rubber grips on the underside keep the liner from sliding when our guinea pig gets the zoomies. For a guinea pig, the liner absorbs small urine spots well, no soak thru noticed (yet). So far, so good!

I put this in the new round playpen I got and it fit and did a great job with the new puppy. Very washable too.
