Product Description

smart doorbell button replacement elite pro ring

HOW TO INSTALL

  • Four screws from the back of the main housing.
  • Four screws to the main board (two black, two silver screws)
  • Detach three connectors (two white and one black, carefully)
  • Do not remove any other connectors as they a small and very easy to break or damage.
  • Only tilt main circuit board forward, this reveals the back of the push button
  • Unscrew the screw that holds the centre of button.
  • Now, button drops out the front and you can careful remove broken cover, gently pry off old button cover.
  • Line up new button cover to the base of the button mount.
  • Carefully. As it’s still on a circuit ribbon, you don’t want to tug it.
  • Once new cover is lined up. Refit button (don’t forget the spring) and refit unit

**Update** - Lots of customers have had great luck, just pulling out the cracked button with pliers and then lining up the new button and pushing it into place. Please make sure you are careful pulling it out and just the button, then just make sure the new button alignment holes are aligned correctly before pushing in place.

It worked excellent for a few months. Then the doorbell button started to crack and stopped working. It's unfortunate that it doesn't work like Ring sells it. It is also a VERY expensive item for what it does and is not designed for outdoors.

I bought an ebay silicon 4 pack, don't make my mistake. Look for this product injection molded. Perfect replacement item. Read some other reviews and if you tried the silicon one 1st, you can pull it out and snap this one back in without taking the unit apart.

This might work perfectly well but it’s important to note that you have to dismantle the ring from the electrical wiring in order to replace this piece so it’s annoying to installBut I’m sure works great

There are a lot of mixed reviews on these replacement buttons. I found this one that offered a decent price and free returns if it didn't work. That price is why I dropped it to 4 stars. There is a vide on YouTube about removing the old button. It's not hard but you do have to go slow so you don't damage anything. Getting the old button off required me to clip away the old button plastic to free it up. But again, go slow and you are in good shape. The replacement button snapped right on perfectly and locked in like it should. When you put the physical button back into the doorbell, you have a black screw to hold it in place. That screw does not get tightened all the way. It's also used to make the metal contact to tell the doorbell that someone pushed the button. Tighten it only until the small tab comes through the notch to keep the button from spinning or moving. The sensor works perfectly through the button and the material was not cracked as some prior comments described. I ended up buying a second one just as a backup. Why Ring doesn't offer a replacement button is surprising and they wanted to give me a discount on a new multi-hundred dollar doorbell. This was definitely the way to go.

This button replacement is so fragile and cracked before install. Very cheaply made product and very expensive. The plastic was not at all flexible to fit and extremely fragile. Do not purchase at all.

The face of the original button broke in two and eventually came off in the hand of a delivery person when they rang the doorbell. (It had been cracked for over a year). I was able to gently remove the rest of the button with a pair of needle nose pliers (the circular portion in the attached photo). Gently is the important word here. Note how it comes out because it likely only goes back on one way. (There is a notch in the new cover (not one of the slots!) that went towards the bottom on my Ring Pro 2.).The comment from the seller that lots of people were able to replace the buttons without dis assembling the unit made me try doing it, and it worked!

Remove old button with pliers, push on new button. Took 30 seconds and it works great.
