The filters will separate in the plastic casing, but other than that it works.

Not even close to 3/8". Much smaller, but you can make it work if you feel like putting in the effort.

I was in the market for fuel filters that allow for the easy viewing of sediment trapped by the filter. These filters serve this purpose well especially when used in old cars and tractors which may have sediment in the gas tanks. Beware, however, the filters are plastic and they may melt if placed too close to a source of heat. I used the filter on an old Jeep where the fuel line ran close to the engine block but the filter did not contact the hot surface. After the engine had been running for a few minutes, the filter was found to have melted causing a large aneurysmal outpouching which began to leak gasoline on the hot engine. In retrospect, this was user error and predictable and does reflect on the quality of the product. A metal filter would have been a wiser choice and that is what I have subsequently installed. I have used these plastic filters on old tractors where the filter is well away from the engine block. In terms of quality, the filters seem OK but they are not a 5 star product.

I have multiple cars and like to buy filters in bulk. I also like transparent filters so I can see if they get sediment trapped in them and know when to replace them. The savings is great and they work in all my classics with carbs.

Filters seem ok. Have used 3 so far. I like clear you can see if it's got dirty stuff in it.

Put this on my car as an additional fuel filter. Hours after install the filter separated from the housing. Not good. Not filtering anything at this point. Took that one off and replaced it with another one from the pack I bought. Same thing. These are junk. In the photo it is easy to see the 3 filters on the left are new and unused. The 2 filters on the right were only on the car a couple of hours each and in both cases the filter detached from the housing allowing fuel to bypass the filter. The car was never driven once these were installed. Just the contact with gasoline caused this failure. WTH? Not only this but the filters inside the housing are crushed and all bent up too. See additional pics. I returned these. Better to buy the name brand Wix 33003. Spend a little more get the good ones. These don't filter anything and can ruin your carburetor.
