The mallet is perfect for breaking in and very durable! The elastic band works but it is very tight and that makes it tricky to get into position.

This has seen quite a bit of use over the last few months, as I needed to get a glove, then both my boys upgraded gloves, and now my daughter needed a new one since she’s a lefty and we can’t hand down the gloves to her. This has made breaking in the gloves a breeze! I always take it with us to games just in case someone needs to use it. It’s just so easy to use and does a fantastic job. Each glove works so much better than my old method of cramming a ball into the glove then sleeping with it under my mattress for a week or more. I wish I had ordered one of these sooner!

I just joined a softball league for the first time since high school and my old childhood glove disappeared at some point, so I've been having to break in a new one.This has helped break in that new glove and to form the pocket to a softball-sized ball when just laying around, which I love. Recommend for an accelerated break-in and to keep your glove shaped a certain way where you tend to catch the ball!

My son plays adult softball on several league teams and travels a lot so he has several gloves. The old school way to break in a new glove was to put a ball in the mit and rubber band it closed to help form the "pocket", this looked like a great alternative so I ordered it for him. He reports that it works great and that he has used it on one of his newest gloves and a teammate is currently using it to break in his daughters new glove.
