I thought sof-tec was referring to the grip handle not the brand. Handle is hard plastic. All else is fine with knife. Would recommend.

This is an excellent knife for me. The soft grip is good, the weight is perfect. The size is just right for almost any job. Larger knives always seemed to intimidate me, but I was wrong. I actually have more control when cutting.

This is a heavy duty sharp knife that holds in the hand nicely. The blade cover I bought did not fit as the knife is too wide.

We are always fighting over the other santuko knife I have so decided to get another before cooking for the holidays. It is a little shorter than my other but such great value
