both leads came apart soon after receipt of package - not a good product - sometimes it pays to buy the more expensive option - this case proves that theory!!!

Soldering iron has defect with a weak connection inside and won't heat up unless the wire is wiggled and held in certain position which makes it useless for soldering work

I ordered this kit for one reason. I have a GolfBuddy5 GPS watch that has a battery which must be soldered into the mother board in order to change a dead battery, yes... that is ridicules.I ordered a new battery for the watch and hoped that I had a steady enough hand to solder wires that are the size of horse hairs. Though the dial on the very tiny soldering iron in this kit was not glued onto the temperature wheel adjustment correctly, I turned it all of the up, saw a light go on and hoped for the best. It heated up very quickly and I was able to do the job. My GPS watch now charges and works as it should. There is no way that I could have done this without this very small soldering iron. There are many different parts in this kit and perhaps at some point I will use them, but at this time, I have only used the soldering iron. I didn't even have to use additional solder which comes in the kit.Part of doing this job, along with rescuing my watch so I can use it at the golf course, was to see if I was capable of soldering it precisely enough. The kit was priced reasonable enough to make it worth while trying. I now have a working GPS watch.
