I loved my first purchase and just bought two more. The sound on replay is clear. I have used them for a singing group that I sang with as well as for the choir of our church.

I purchased this product under the impression that the item will be supplied with the batteries that can be refilled with the wire connected to computer/USB. I had previously purchased sony recorder 10 years back and got with the reusable battery. So this time I expected the same. The seller needs to mention clearly that the batteries for ICD PX240 sony recorder need to be replaced. Also the recorder seems to be an old version. Cant use it for long term. For those planning to purchase, please make note of the above.

I love everything about it. The volume, size, feedback, folders, even came with ear plugs.

The device is easy to use and I bought it for professional testing on the the phone. Yet, the quality was not that great, and the timer was counting down where I did not know how long is the test should be, very confusing. The voice recording was static, it has echo and not that clear for me. If you want to record something not for work, this device can work for you. The instructions are not clear to fix the timing and if there is anything can be done for the quality of sound so I tried it and I had to return it.

The directions were not very easy or clear to follow. It took about 35 minutes to figure out how to use it . But the bonus is it works. Unlike a friend who bought a non brand name one and it doesn’t work .

All I needed was a simple, easy to use Voice Recorder with a built-in Speaker. The Sony ICD-PX240 is exactly that, easy to use and good sound level and quality on playback with the built-in speaker. I don't know if it can transfer files to a computer and honestly I don't care, never going to need to do that. It is a good size that it will not get lost, decent display that is clear and readable, good size buttons making it easy to use. Easy to record, just hold down the power button, wait until it is ready, hit record, then hit stop, then hit playback.If you need a simple, easy to use voice recorder then I highly recommend the ICD-PX240.

I bought this Sony ICD-PX240 4GB recorder after buying the Tascam DR-05 for solo audio recordings and I have to say I'm very impressed with the quality this Sony recorder has versus the higher priced Tascam. If you connect a solid quality mic on this device I don't think you can tell the difference from other higher priced audio recording devices. The only bad quality of this device is the hard to decipher menus when you're first learning this machine as opposed to other more user friendly menu screens. Don't throw away your manual because you'll probably have to go back and refer to it every once in awhile if you have a time gap in usage since without it you might not remember what do all the menu abbreviations stand for.
