The Sony M-675V Microcassette Voice Recorder is a small, compact microcassette recorder that is ready to go right out the box. It comes with a charger, AC adaptor, and rechargeable batteries. Sony's Clear Voice function improves recording quality through the built-in microphone and the built-in is perfect for tape playback. The cue/review function makes it easy to check what you've just recorded and if you're in a hurry, the M-675V has a fast playback function that plays recordings 20-percent faster than normal.

To reduce recording dead air, Sony delivers with the advanced voice operated recording (VOR) feature that actually stops recording during silent pauses, saving valuable recording time. This recorder features a three-LED battery level indicator, a three-digit tape counter, and jacks that provide a connection for microphones, earphones, and AC/DC power.

In my opinion this recorder offers everything you need if you use microcassettes. This model like the one below it offers a separete microphone input and the built in mic. 2 recording speeds and the actual ac adaptor. Yes, Sony is a bit greedy with their proprietary ac adaptor inputs in just about everything they sell, but you don't have to pay full price at Amazon to get the whole package. For my needs this is perfect and at Amazon, competetition drives price.

Buyer beware!!!! I purchased the Sony M-675V in November 2008 and received the package from Amazon's third party seller BestSource Office Supplies rather quickly. I removed the item from the box and read the description on the sealed manufacturer exterior packaging of the recorder and the description stated as that of my order. Unfortunately I waited a little over a month and a half to take the recorder out of the manufacturer sealed package because when I finally did I realized the recorder inside the package was the M-670V and not the M-675V. If I wanted the M-670V I would have purchased it, but I did not!!! Upon realizing my misfortune I immediately contacted the seller and was told he would be contacting the warehouse and getting back to me ASAP, needless to say, a month later and I still haven't received the return call as promised. I called the seller back several times to follow-up and spoke with Joe who told me the same thing as before that they would get back to me and yet no return call. I called Amazon and was told the A-Z guarantee couldn't be granted since the purchase was made over a month ago so I made another call to Amazon and I was told a claim would be filed for a refund since my attempt at resolution with the seller was unsuccessful. It's been 2 weeks now and still no refund, nor status on my problem. I've been an Amazon customer for years and have spent thousands of dollars in purchases so this is very disheartening for me. I will leave another feedback once I've received follow-up on my claim. Hopefully there will be light at the end of this tunnel. Also, my advice to you is when making a purchase reading the exterior of the manufacturer sealed package is just not enough when determining if you've received the correct item. Remove the item from it's original manufacturer packaging before storing it away.

I was very disappointed in this item. It claims to be voice activated--I've followed the instructions but I have never had this feature work. When I have recorded a message the playback is very noisy either though there is no background noise when the recording is being made. I would not recommend this item.

This is a great little recorder. We have used many brands of recorders in the past, and this is among the best. The learning curve was also very small, and we were able to start using it within a few minutes of opening the box.

The microcassette works well enough in fast speed but has a bit of wow and flutter in low speed for extending your recording time. Cue and review is located in an awkward position for my use. However, although this recorder is pricey, hopefully it will hold up under use. The AC adapter and NIMH battery charger are a very useful included item with voice activation on the tape recorder itself. Recording and playback work well as does fast forward and rewind. Very light in weight and can be carried in a pocket.
