Why not take you tunes along with you? You can do it affordably with the Sony WM-FX197 AM/FM cassette Walkman. Pop in a tape, or tune your favorite station on the AM/FM radio. You'll also hear richer, deeper lows with Sony's mega-bass technology. This little number sips the juice, too, so you can enjoy your music up to 25 hours on two AA batteries. Stereo headphones, as well as a belt clip, are included.

After less than 30 minutes of use, it ate it's first brand new $17.00 cassette tape. It's condition looks like it's been in a fist fight with a semi truck. Sometimes it plays the left tape track, sometimes the right track and sometimes both. Missing or broken off belt hanger on the back. Bigly disappointed!

I purchased this as a nostalgia gift for my wife, who has talked about always wanting one as a kid with a certain cassette that she always wanted. I purchased both the cassette and the walkman only to find that headphones did not come with the purchase. This is very frustrating since the picture clearly shows they have them together. So now I have the gift and have to find a way for her to be able to listen to it. Thanks for the false advertisement. Now I have a walkman with a corroded battery spring and volume that is so quiet you can only listen to it in a quiet room. Make sure you find out first what all you are paying for. This is disappointing!

I've relied on Sony Walkman cassette players for 50 years. I always like to have a new one in reserve. I flipped out after I read that Sony isn't making these any more and immediately bought this one. It still works beautifully for my primary purpose. It gives me a choice not to listen to other people's noise. It also allows me to listen to my favorite tapes without bugging anyone else in turn. Hail and farewell to the hero of my youth and now, preserver of privacy in my age.

Working good so far , would maybe like another one but at 350 new ?.. when it was 199 1 month ago ? . Seems like you ' re taking advantage ofa very hard to get item at a regular store.... and those of us who prefer tape have to pay. Sound is great , thanks ...

What with the showing up quickly and working good. Reminds me of the good ole days when these things were still culturally relevant.

So pleased that there is still a source for a Sony Cassette Walkman, as cannot find in stores, not even the Sony store. I have (very old) language tapes that I still use, especially when I go out for a walk in the evening or am on the treadmill in the gym. I use this Walkman almost every day, especially in the summer.

Almost as good as the original. I miss the feature that automatically changes the direction of the tape so that playing both sides back to back is possible. Otherwise, very happy.

This suits my needs for walking outside perfectly. It has fast forward and rewind, is easy to operate, and the buttons are very accessible. The sound is very good--adequate bass, but not overpowering. I was so glad that I was able to find this so that I'm able to listen to my cassettes now that I've started walking every night. It was delivered within days of when I ordered it, which also made me happy.

This is the third Sony Walkman I've owned over the last 24 years, for an average lifespan of 8 years for each. Two were Sports models that were bulky and heavy. This one is lighter and has a much better bass. I use it only when I am walking on the treadmill, but it gets a lot of use and it is holding up very well. Very glad I found this as I have a lot of cassettes that I don't want to give up. I purchased this new on Amazon. It arrived very quickly and was in the original packaging. I highly recommend this model Walkman.

It's hard to find a cassette walkman these days with the industry geared toward CDs and ipods. My new car's stereo had no cassette, so I used this walkman unit to play my old cassettes. Many of us have a lot of music on cassette, so this unit did its job. The TV sound part of the unit is horrible, which is disappointing. Reception wise the TV sound should be better. In 2009, the over the air TV signals will be removed anyway when television stations go all digital, so it won't make a difference anyway. I live 7 miles from a major city, so not getting TV sound is disappointing showing that the TV sound reception is disappointing. Otherwise the unit is decent.
