I’m really impressed with the Rocyis Sous Vide machine! First, the 1000W heating power allows it to heat up quickly, so I don’t have to wait long before starting my cooking. The temperature control is spot-on, and it keeps the water at the perfect level of precision throughout the entire cook. I’ve tried several different recipes, including meats and vegetables, and everything has come out perfectly tender and juicy.The LED digital touch screen is very easy to use, and I love how intuitive the interface is. The timer function is a great feature, and I can set it and forget it, knowing that the sous vide machine will automatically shut off once the time is up.Another thing I really appreciate is the included lid, which helps minimize water evaporation during longer cooking sessions, making it more energy-efficient. The recipes that come with the machine are a nice touch, offering some inspiration for dishes I wouldn’t have thought of otherwise.Overall, this sous vide machine has been an excellent addition to my kitchen. It’s reliable, easy to use, and has helped elevate my cooking to a whole new level. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves cooking and wants to try sous vide cooking at home.

Having a Sous-vide / immersion cooking device in your home provides a very desirable capability you should seriously explore if you don’t already have one. The priority function of these immersion cookers is to closely control the internal temperatures of the food items being cooked with controlling the cooking time as a secondary control. There are a multitude of sous-vide / immersion cookers available these days and most are pretty generic in their basic functions. My comments here are directed towards the features and functionality of this particular immersion cooker and not on how to use it (there is a wealth of information on-line regarding sous-vide recipes, techniques, etc.).This item comes with (see photo) an immersion cooker, a device to mount the cooker to a water container (a pot or a Styrofoam cooler – my favorite), a pot lid to help retain heat, an owners’ manual, a recipe book, and a carrying bag.So, here are my observations:Pros:• This immersion cooker does the job. Despite some peculiarities, it performs its basic functions well.• The cooker has colored light indicators showing when the water is heating up, when it arrives at the designated temperature, and when the cooking time has completed. Interesting feature, but really does not add much to the cooking experience.• Its price point at around $54 places this item at the lower end of its competitors.Cons:• It is difficult to see the “buttons” on the display face when setting the cooker into operation (see photos). Once you figure these out however, setup and operation proceed normally.• The instruction manual is awkwardly worded and, consequently, a bit confusing at times. Nonetheless, with the generic nature of these type devices, you can pretty easily get beyond that.• This cooker does not have the WiFi connectivity that other high-end cookers do (but who really needs that anyway?).• There are no instructions in the owners’ manual concerning the cleaning and maintenance of this cooker. Pretty easy to figure that out, however.Conclusions: this immersion cooker does the job well and at this price point will be a useful addition to your kitchen cooking tools.

OK, I’m not an expert with sous vide cooking. In fact, this is our first machine. We have been watching cooking shows on how to cook the perfect steak and often they first use a sous vide machine and then follow-up with searing the steak. After researching sous vide we found it can be used for all kinds of things like vegetables, pork, beef, chicken, and fish. It also works great for reheating frozen bagged meals. So we decided to give it a try.Sous vide means under vacuum in French. You cook things in a bag in water at low-temperature and for a long-time. You don’t have to use vacuum sealed bags, you can also use zip lock bags and squeeze the air out.The required long-time cooking threw us but then we thought we could actually start the cooking process early in the day and, like a crock-pot, not have to think about it until we were ready to eat. Cooking in a sealed bag keeps the flavor and juices in and the food’s internal temp can only reach the temp of the water bath thus eliminating overcooking (unless you set the temp of the sous vide machine too high).I was impressed with this Rocyis Sous Vide kit. The machine is heavy, built very well, and really easy to use. It is a quality kitchen appliance. Switching from Celsius to Fahrenheit was simple and it only has a few controls; start/stop, temp set, and time set. There is a three color LED on the head’s display face; Red- setting status and heating, Green – temperature reached and timer counting down, and Blue – cooking has reached the set time.The kit also came with a pot-side clamp, a silicone pot cover, a storage bag, instructions, and a recipe booklet. The recipes in the booklet are full blown sous vide cooking meals. We were looking for something simple to try first. We decided to try making the perfect hard boiled eggs.The only problem we ran into was the pot to use. You need to have a tall enough pot so the water level falls between the max and min marks on the sous vide machine. Second you actually need a big enough pot to fit the items you are cooking and the machine. A two quart pot was too small; a six quart pot was perfect. The machine worked great and was actually quick. The water stirring by the machine was good and the eggs took 20 minutes at 194 degrees. Yes, they were perfect. We can’t wait to try other things since this cooking method is so simple.This is an excellent sous vide machine and at an excellent price. It doesn’t have WiFi or Bluetooth connection but it costs much lower than many other machines on Amazon.
