1/4" thick, properly machined / square spanner lugs, and should last many years if you use it properly. My last wrench was well used but was a softer steel with distorted lugs, and only half as thick as this one. Good for the occasional use and small enough for the range bag tool kit.

Could be a little longer just to get more torque on the nut but works fine. Fits the castle nut on an AR stock perfect and got the job done.

This fits the castle nut grooves fine, not much play at all. This is really heavy - weight wise. The only downside is it isn't a long handle so getting the right leverage is more difficult. However we successfully removed a castle nut, replaced the back plate, installed the castle nut (and then later repeated the process because we need to make a micro adjustment. )

This fit most things I'd use it on reasonably well. Just use a real wrench on muzzle devices, people.... reasonable price, is nice heavy duty design but none of these seem to be designed to last a lifetime. That's why I have a pile of them.
