For $13 this 2.4/5G wi-fi extender or AP is an ok deal. I configured it at 192.168.11.1 as an extender and it's seem to increase the signal strength by one bar (not as good but better than nothing.) The poor physical design makes it take both power outlets. It has RJ45 jacks for wire connection as an AP.UPDATE: Worked sporadically for about a week. Now nothing can connect to it.

Shuts itself off a lot. Says it does it when the signal gets under 70%, but who knows what the cause of the signal strength failing is, because this is supposed to be the tool that stops all that.

This is a very lightweight plastic WiFi extender, which can also function as an AP, though I didn't try that. It was easy to setup and get running. It was also very easy to reset and setup a 2nd time.Pros: low cost, 4 movable antennas (180 degrees rotation, 90 degrees angle). easy to setup, the 4 LEDs provide enough info to tell you the status, has an RJ45 port to extend a non-WiFi device such as an older DVD/BluRay player, Security DVRCons: very cheap plastic, though it seems well made. There is no management page...though if you determine the IP address you can access the setup page again, but it doesn't display current settings nor allow things like updating firmware. I assumed the 2 x RJ45 ports might allow connecting 2 wired devices, but apparently one port is only for the router, and the other port is for a wired device...though neither port is marked. This device is sold by KKH, but other than generic product support, there seems to be little information about who manufactured the device, etc...

Setup was extremely easy through the app and took no time at all. Tested throughput with a Netflix stream and I dare say it was faster and more responsive than the wifi straight from my Fios modem. I don't have a large property, but it is just large enough to have dead zones where I need wifi for things like chicken coop cams, outdoor movie nights, etc. I placed this halfway between and it filled the holes nicely. Can't speak to longevity yet, as I've only had a short while, but docking one star for the lack of robust security features or a more comprehensive interface.

I ordered this wifi extender when I thought my existing extender stopped working. However, it turned out it was a problem with the internet company. So now I have two extenders. I'm old, so not good with setting up computer stuff (that's what we have kids for). I was confused by the instructions, but ended up in the setup menu with my cell phone, and then it was very simple to set up. For me, this was a huge plus. However, although it said it had a better signal than my old extender, when I set it up on my TV out in my sewing studio, it had a poor signal, whereas my old extender had a fair signal. I got this because it said it would send the signal through walls. The signal has a window and one exterior wall (with metal siding) to go through. It works, but a poor signal is not what I was hoping for; thus the "3" rating.

This wifi extender is working well for me. Setup was easy: connect to the wifi network being broadcast by the extender; go to web address 192.168.11.1; follow prompts to extend selected network. It worked on the first try and I have been using the extended network for the past several hours with no slowdowns or dropouts. The extension gave me an extra bar of signal strength. Note that there is enough clearance above the extender to use the upper plug (with a small cord) when plugged into a duplex out let. (see photo).I plan to use this at an old house I am renovating. My neighbors there are kind enough to let me connect to their wifi, so this should hopefully let me get a little better coverage around the house. For the reasonable price of $13.99, I think this is a cheap way to get better wifi coverage.

It is the most unreliable thing I've ever bought on amazon. It didn't even last a whole 24 hours before it just fully disconnected, and then the next day when I unplugged it and replugged it back in I don't know if it stayed connected for more than 10 minutes before it just completely disappeared off the Wi-Fi and I went to go look at it and again it was just turned off. Not sure if I just got a lemon or if it's just that bad of a piece of junk, but the only good thing I can say about it was that it was really easy to set up, but truthfully the instructions would have been very difficult for someone who is not an it like I am to understand them, because they don't really tell you where to go to get to the first step online. They could have added another step in there with a picture or even a sentence to let you know to click on manage router. I do not recommend this in the lease bed, so go get a better one that will actually stay connected for you.

This extender arrived well-packaged and boxed. There is an instruction booklet but it isn't very easy to read or follow. The text is tiny and the steps read across the 'pages' not down the 'page' and then go to the next page. After powering up the unit I was waiting for the lights to come on saying it was receiving a signal but it didn't. There is an instruction image in the listing, follow this, it is much easier than trying to follow the booklet. The instructions list buttons that aren't on the unit.If you go to your phone's wifi settings you will see the WIFI Repeater show up. Just click on this and go through the login details (your original WIFI login password). Then you are connected. We use it to get WIFI outside the house in the courtyard where we have dead zones. Tested and works perfectly. Great Value.
