These are nice little logs but they aren't birch wood. Rather they are charred and ash covered. Great for the base layer of hot coals.

I ordered two packs, and one log was broken. However since I ordered two, there was more than enough to use. I really like them. They look great with my white stone fireplace.

They look beautiful and mine are just for decoration. I won't use them in the fireplace. While they may be ceramic, they feel almost like coated styrofoam. I guess I was thinking they would be heavy as if they were solid ceramic. I'm definitely not returning them, but i'm not sure I would buy again at $50.

When I received these there was a small piece broken off already. They are much smaller than I expected even though I saw the sizes. But they are cute and look better in the fireplace than having it empty.

It might be that I need to place the logs differently but only one is showing a bit of red when the fire is on. The logs do become browned where the fire touches them. I don’t mind that but I’m hoping that doesn’t wear them down quickly. I think they are a nice option as a replacement for the older brown logs. It would be nice if they came as a set of 6. One log did arrive with the branch detail broken off.

Logs are smaller then they appear on the online images. They are also too fragile and one was broken in package.

These are beautiful birch logs for a gas fireplace. They are beautiful and have a nice glow in a few different areas on the log according to how you place them on your gas fireplace unit. They didn’t produce ash or soot after burning for over two weeks. They were slightly smaller than I imagined they would be and I planned on ordering another set until we were given a brand new bigger complete gas fireplace log with unit and logs. Our new set had bigger traditional darker wood logs and though we love the new unit we truly love these birch logs much better. The newer darker logs disappeared into our dark brick firebox whereas the white birch ones stood out. Since then we have combined our birch logs with the newer darker ones for some contrast. If you are going for a clean minimalist farmhouse looks you will not be disappointed in these white birch logs. They are beautiful and burn clean and mine have not turned darker after consistent burning the last two weeks upwards of 6plus hours a day. The price,value and look of these logs is excellent. You may need two sets if you have a large fireplace gas unit.
