Parts has been installed a few weeks now. Idle and driveability have been fine. Seeing many bad reviews here and would agree going OEM would be preferable. SMP would not be my first choice for precision electrical parts. But OEM out of stock and over 2x the price. Always worth trying to clean if you can. Though in my case it was physically damaged.Only difference I've noticed is the transition from fast idle on a cold start is more abrupt. RPM's are still within spec so not an actual issue. Behavior was just unexpected. There is a square drive adjustment screw near the connector. In my case is was set ~2 turns in (~1.5mm below flush). Normally wouldn't advise touching it, but if it's not working correctly may save hassle of an RMA.

The Idle Air Control Valve I received was a POS. It made my Mustang GT idle at 2500 RPMs when coming to a stop or shifting gears. I returned it and went to the dealer for an OEM part. Put it on and Ta-Da...works perfect. Motorcraft is the only way to go for replacement parts on my car as far as electronics and valves.

Plugged the new part in and my idle was all over the place. It just wouldn't hold a constant idle, it would go from 800 rpm to 1500 rpm, then back down to 800rpm.... I cleaned the old one with carb cleaner and re installed it and bam ran great. Held a steady idle and never moved up or down. So obviously the part was defective.
