The Starrett 670B hole attachment is used with any dial indicator made to American Gage Design (AGD) standards to measure the inside of holes of other recessed areas. The attachment has a 0.375"/9.5mm diameter stem and a 0.5625"/14mm measuring range for hole depths up to 1.6875"/42mm. The contact point on the end of the swivel arm which contacts the workpiece has a 1/8"/3mm diameter.
Dial indicators are also called dial gauges, probe, and electronic indicators. These precision instruments measure small linear distances and object sizes. The dial magnifies the measurement so that it can be easily read by the human eye. Frequently used in manufacturing, laboratories, and other industrial or mechanical fields, dial indicators are used anywhere a small measurement must be found and recorded or transferred, such as checking the variation in tolerance of a workpiece. Standard dial indicators measure the displacement along the axis of the indicator. Dial test indicators are very similar to dial indicators, except that the axis of measurement is perpendicular to the axis of the indicator. Dial and dial test indicators can be analog, with a mechanical dial, or electronic, with a digital display. Some electronic models transfer the data electronically to a computer for recording and potential manipulation.

Ich kenne diese Umlenkung aus den Viedeos von Abom79 oder KEith Fenner. DIe benutzen den auch immer wiedre für Innenmessungen an Drehteilen. Leider gibt es den 670b nur mit BEfestigung für 10mm amerikan. Messtaster-Norm. Deshlab muss man sich eine kleine geschlitzte Hülse für 10 - 8 mm (Deutsche Norm) anfertigen, das dürfte aber kein Problem darstellen.

You can't go wrong with Starrett. I purchased this because of Abom79's use and didn't really think I would use it. Not 24 hours after it arrived I found myself using the Indicator Hole Attachment to get a largish item centered in the four jaw chuck. It took a painful task to an easy task.
