First time I used it and I felt very secure. Might be a little play but not much. It will easily secure your ladder in place. No more moving ladder when getting off roof. Another thing that keep peace of mind if its windy I don't have to worry about my ladder being blow across the back yard or front yard into a neighbor windows, cars, person etc... I also purchase the Lock Jaw ladder grip so will be using both.

If I had to recommend one product to anyone who uses a ladder regularly (like I do in my line of work), I would say the Ladder Lock is it. Such a simple design but it provides so much peace of mind when it is used properly. I never go on a roof without this tool. It does not matter if a roof eave is 8' or 18', safety is always a priority. This tool *will* make it a safer climb and for a tool priced at under $40, I would say it is a steal. How much is your safety worth?

Bought a pair for my brother and father to use in their construction business. They have already been put to great use and they have asked for another pair. Guess what they are getting for Christmas again?! I bought them after I saw them on a tv show talking about them. I knew this would help out when they have already been stranded on a roof after the wind blew their ladder over and my husband had to go save them!

This product has made my job a lot safer,by preventing ladder slides.Issues: The rubber grips are failing after moderate use, which shouldn't happen. The configuration of the device could be improved, to prevent the parts from detaching. The hook for the ladder rail is a bit small for my ladder, which has slightly wide legs, but probably works well on most extension ladders.
