Sitting at room temperature, the valve somehow got stuck and the funnel shattered when I tried to turn the valve.*Update*: The seller reached out and gave me a 50% warranty refund. They offered a full replacement as well, but I was in the middle of moving and had limited space to work with, so I declined.If you buy this and the valve gets stuck, be very careful about how much force you try to unstick it with. Any invisible defects in the glass might quickly make themselves apparent. In hindsight, I should have used WD-40 or something first, but I have no idea if that would have solved it or not.

These particular separators are naturally fragile because of their structural character, good care will make them work as well as mine. Cleaning can be a bit of a challenge, but it's all in how you choose to do that.

I'm a trained chemist, but it's been a while since I dabbled and I needed a new sep funnel. Frankly, for the price (~$60) I thought I would get crap. This funnel is not crap at all. I wish I had bought 3. Actually, now as I write this, I'm going to clear them out. If they restock, do yourself a favor and grab one. I can also confirm that it is most definitely borosilicate.

Balancing price and quality in the search for a lab glass supplier is difficult. I've had mixed results from Stony Lab. I was a bit disappointed in the quality of this 500ml Seperatory funnel. Initially I was going to ask for a replacement, but I'm still on the fence.
