Excellent, very sturdy, some play with bar + bar bolts to fit space between studs. Read on for tips.I was a bit worried my stud gap wasn’t going to align with the bar length. Turns out, there’s plenty of give in the bar screws to ensure a tight, sturdy, no wobble installation.I watched the video on the website, mostly helpful: https://studbarpullup.com/stud-bar-installation/#closeAll the tools I used + tips (see picture):-Ratchet kit (cheap from lowe’s for like 25 bucks)-You only need socket size 14 millimeter for the stud screws and 16 millimeter for the bar.-Drill bit sized 3/16” for pilot hole-drill to socket adapter (drill to 3/8” for my socket set-Electric drill (to get stud screws started)I was fortunate to have an open ceiling to work with, so I could get the stud screws dead center on the stud for each hole. Follow the video for the most part, start one end, move to the others, pilot drill first 3/16”, then stud screws.I drilled all the holes first using the ceiling mount as a guide, then I went back and started the stud screws with the e-drill. My drill here is very crappy so I ended up using the ratchet to finish tightening (I’m normally a Milwaukee guy don’t worry). Video says not to use it but if you don’t rotate too far, you won’t break the screws. Just do it enough so that they’re secure, don’t over-tighten.Video was also correct, you want to keep the stud screws loose until you have inserted the bar. There’s a lot of play with the bar screws, maybe a combined 1 1/2 inch? So don’t worry if your studs are a little off. I’d say anywhere (center stud to center stud) between 47 1/2 and 48 1/2 inches you’ll probably be able to get a nice solid fit on the bar. I’d even say you might be able to get away with 47-49”!Anyway, very pleased with how it turned out. Just got 15 reps in, can confirm from a fairly experienced pull upper that this bar is excellent, sturdy, easy grip and high quality. Fully made of steel - shit isn’t going anywhere. I have the 8ft version and have about an 8 foot ceiling, by the way. Fits perfectly.

I grew sick of my doorway pull-up bar being in the way and too short to do all the things I wanted. So I set out and researched a lot of stud mounted pull-up bars from all the various crossfit capable bars from titan, rogue, etc. before deciding on the studbar for a few reasons. Not only was the studbar the perfect dimensions (bar thickness is perfect, bar length is perfect, reviews were perfect not just on amazon but from youtube channels I follow of functional fitness instructors who recommended the studbar) and best of all I can get it on Amazon Prime quick and free shipping.I also love how the studbar website has a lot of videos with tips with to install and use it. The company also answers your questions right away through e-mail and they are located in San Diego.I've had the pull up bar for 3 weeks and used it every day with no issues. I installed it in my home office on 10 ft ceilings so I would be encouraged to use it all the time, even when it's too hot or too cold in my garage. I decided to wall-mount the pull-up bar because my ceiling studs were facing the wrong direction for where I wanted to hang it to have room to do things like leg lifts and attach exercise bands to it.While it's still typically slightly better to install it on the ceiling, I've had no issues with this bar being wall mounted. I simply got the standard size one for 9 foot ceilings (even though I have 10') because I'm 6ft tall and wanted to hang it higher up on the wall (I hung it at 94" so I have to jump up a couple of inches to get up on it, and so things hanging off of it wouldn't hang to low. I love it this way. It sticks out 22" from the wall which is plenty of space to hang from it from the opposite direction to do leg raises.I'm very satisfied with the bar and only wish I had got it sooner.

Ordered this bar based on the Amazon reviews, a recommendation from a friend, and the fact that I just wanted a straight, sturdy bar with no gimmicks. Got the delivery quickly. Came in simple packaging without those useless tools that never work anyway. My trusses are 24 inches apart so the install was simple. I just made my own template with a length of cardboard, made the marks, double checked my marks with the stud finder, and drilled the pilot holes with a 1/8 bit. I greased up the bolts with vaseline and drove them in with a socket. I had no issues with the bolts snapping like some others had. I just eased the bolts in a little at a time. I attached the bar BEFORE snugging the support braces in. Everything sent seamlessly and I did a few pull-ups right away (as I'm sure you all did). This bar is awesome. It even came with a note in the box with a number to text or email if you had any issues during the install. Oh, and I did the install by myself in about an hour (mostly because I'm super OCD about measurements). If you want a quality bar at a fair price, look no further. Highly recommended. Thanks Mark!
