If you don’t have good signal in your home, I recommend this product to you. It did wonders with boosting our signal from Verizon. Now we are able to get signal all over our house where we had patchy areas before. I was very skeptical, but this was so easy and worked great. Had I known I would’ve purchased sooner.

I purchased this cell booster kit to use on camping trips. I wanted the directional antenna so that I could mount it on a pole. The mobile units do not have the long coax and this yagi antenna, instead using an omni-directional antenna that mounts on the vehicle. I wanted the best possible set-up for remote locations. Previously I have been unhooking a cell booster from my home set-up that I have been using for 4 years to take camping. I decided to get this new one and use it for a dedicated camping unit. When I first received this new one I simply unscrewed the outside antenna from the old one and reconnected it to this module with the whip antenna installed. It worked great and I posted a picture of the speed test. Now I have a complete set-up to carry camping. I am very satisfied with the performance...

It worked for a few hours on a shovel. Next morning it wouldn’t work. I then mounted it on a 20 foot pole about 35 feet away all lights were solid green. I got my best signal when the other light would flicker. Couldn’t get it to work again.

had to write a review because it took me awhile to dial it in, im glad i didnt give uo on it! look up your closest cell tower, aim it there, and for me it has worked best when i placed it as far (length of included cord/wire) away and high as possible! aiming it at the tower is super delicate to, i kept agjusting it off and on for 2 days, the end result is i went from 1 bar , constant l9ading, or going offline to 4-5 bars consistently. very happy as i was skeptical. be patient and dial it in!

Seems to work well so far, though one slot might underestimate battery capacity. (Still have to test to verify this, but so far it's reported the lowest mAh capacity battery every time, which could be accurate, but needs to be verified)I've only tested with Ni-MH batteries.Major downside is that the grading mode times out after some amount of time (not published as to what this is, so if you aren't there to see the final number, or forget to write it down, then you miss it and it goes into charging mode, failing at one of its primary functions. Really isn't great because it takes a really long time to grade the batteries (like 8+ hrs) so you're set back a long time.

I have an earlier version of this charger which worked, and still works great. However it did not have the various "modes" such as testing capacity and a "storage" unction as this has. Works great with both LiOn and NMIH batteries. I love the fact that it's powered via USB as I use it on fly-in fishing trips with a couple 20,000mha batteries that have USB ports to charge phones, tablets etc. Note that the 3amp charging only happens when you charge ONE 18650 Lion battery and it needs a specific type of USB power source to do so. When charging 2 Lion batts it drops to 2amp and 3 to 1amp and I believe 4 drops it to .5amp. If you don't have the specific USB source it's 2 batts at 1amp and anything more at .5amp which is still fine. The seperate scales for each battery is also good although it would be nice if you could set the charging mode individually for each one but alas, whatever is being charged will all be charged in the same mode. Still a great unit!

So I bought 5x of the VC4S chargers to quickly charge 21700 cells. I'm 3 days in and one of the chargers on the QC 3.0 port is showing problems. I noticed that it was off so I wondered what happened? I figured out the left slot is burnt, and taking out the battery on that slot made the whole charger work.I can smell a burnt smell. Sure I stress tested it since it was straight 60 hours of charging. Still, a slot dying after that? That really sucks. The charge rate is 1A per port when all are occupied under the right conditions with QC 3.0. It's 500mA otherwise. The discharge rate seems to be in the 300mA range. So the performance is lower than I expected.

A NiMh battery charger should stop charging when the batteries are fully charged. However, the charger I received usually stopped charging before the batteries were full. I know this because I got extremely short battery life after charged with this charger. At first, I suspected it was my batteries that were faulty, but later found that if I charge those batteries again immediately after the charger stopped charging, it would still charge some with significant amount of energy (mah). That meant the batteries weren't full the first time. So, while all the fancy displays looked nice, it just couldn't do the very basic thing right. Unfortunately, it already passed return window when I found out this fatal flaw.

Kind of confusing. I'm not the biggest fan of not being able to set the voltage. You have to mitigate that with the charger. Problem is I don't have any charges that will set it to 1 amp charging. And 3 amps is just way too much for most battery chemistries

TL;DR at the bottom.I bought this charger for the batteries I use in my flashlights, and then began using it to charge Eneloop AA and AAAs. So far, I have charged 18350, 18650, 21700, and 22650 batteries with zero problem, and have used the grading mode to determine the true capacity of these cells. The only small issue I’ve had so far is Eneloop AAA’s. They get fairly warm/hot during the charge process. AA’s are charged without a problem.TL;DR: Overall, a fantastic charger for the money, as it’s simple to use and functions exactly as advertised, but keep an eye on any rechargeable AAA batteries you use in it.

It was mailed only in a padded envelope which arrived quite beaten up, as was the corner of the product box in that area of the envelope. The packaging only had a cable in that area and no damage could be seen to the charger. After testing AmazonBasics High-Capacity batteries that I ordered at the same time I consistently found that when using the "Grade" function (to test a battery's capacity), socket/bank #4 would consistently give a much lower reading than the other 3 banks. Removing a cell and retesting it in another bank gave a higher reading, so clearly something is defective with that part of the circuit.Incidentally, none of the AmazonBasics High-Power cells did not reach their stated capacities. A couple got close, but out of 8x AA cells they averaged 2267.5mAh instead of the rated 2400mAh. The AAA were similarly below what was rated. Next time I'll just go with Eneloop or Energizer (I tested 2x that were ~5 years old and had been charged in an old faulty charger which damaged some Kodak cells, but the old Energizer's still get within 50mAh of their rated values!)I like the display and features of the Xtar VC4S and have ordered another elsewhere - hopefully that will function just fine across all banks. The Qualcomm QC3.0 USB input is extremely useful as it means I can grab this charger and take it with me for use in a vehicle somewhere, or even connect it to my solar USB charger! The number of cell types and sizes it supports is amazing! It even charges the new LiFePo4 cells.
