Repaired a broken hinge on my glasses, and it blends in because of the clear plastic. Saved me a trip. Also need for repairs on wiring. Great product.

I used this on a silk ribbon to make my daughters shoelace. I used a heat gun and it worked well.i like the variation of sizes and was worth the money for sure. Good quality.

Very difficult to use, couldn’t get them to melt sufficiently.

Omg!! I used to scotch tape the end of my shoelaces after cutting them bc they were too long! I never knew these existed….so far they’ve done the job! One of my BEST purchases from Amazon. This kit has every size for your shoelaces! Definitely worth it!!

I was pleased to find a product that was affordable, and seemed easy to use for the task I needed to accomplish. After one of our puppies chewed the end off my daughters shoe lace, I searched Amazon for a viable solution. This kit provides many size options for different types of shoelaces. Since I was repairing a flat shoe lace, I was forced to use a size larger than I wanted just to get the shoelace into the plastic tube. After that, it was fairly easy to complete the process. I would definitely recommend using a pair of pliers to hold the shoelace while you use a hairdryer to shrink wrap the tubing around the lace. I felt like it could have shrunk a little more, but could not get it to do so therefore thie aglet ended up being a slight bit larger than the rest, but in the end the shoelace was repaired and it looks really good. I pulled on it a few times to ensure that it stay put, and it seems to be firmly secure.

These are great! Easy to heat up with a lighter to shrink. If you do hold it too long it can turn a bit yellow but that's my fault as I wasn't paying attention. I love all the different sizes.

I have a pair of ‘90s style chunky Dr Martens shoes that I have kept going for over 2 decades now. The aglets cracked and chipped away a long time ago and I finally decided to do something about it. Alas, new identical shoelaces for these were $20+ shipped so, being totally put off by that, I decided to try this heat shrink tubing instead. It worked great! Going to try some fraying charging cables next with the extra. How I did it:1. Tie a string around the very tip of the shoelace. This condenses any fray and allows you to pull it.2. Take a shrink tube piece (I cut one in half) and run the string through so you can pull the shoelace in easier. The frayed end can be just through the end of the tube. I cut the string off then.3. Use a heat gun (I didn’t try just a hair dryer) and shrink that sucker on.4. Cut the tip off so you have a nice end at the appropriate length.5. Run the tip just barely into a flame (lighter, pilot light, candle, whatever) for a second to melt the end together.6. Enjoy your new functional aglet.

There is nothing functionally wrong with these pieces of shrink tube, they work as advertised. However, the batch I received had obviously been in its packaging for a while, as most of the pieces of clear shrink tube now have a frosty white coating from wearing against each other. It's really just me being nitpicky about cosmetics, they get the job done just fine.
