This size I needed. Just wish grooves were on both sides, inside and outside. Ended up using a very fine piece of sandpaper on the smooth side to avoid handlebar slippage. Working so far, but I try not to put to much pressure on handlebars. Casual bike rider here. Tried to look for shims with grooves on both sides in this size but no luck.

I tried shimming the gooseneck on my bike using random aluminum, and metal that I had bent...they all sucked. I just ordered these. They arrived a day later, and boom...job done right. Now, time to ride my bike!

I recently bought one that was the wrong size shim for my fiido ebike which had a low handlebar after I got a bar from my pops. My dad had a bmx handlebar laying around that has just the height I needed. Got it home to install only to find out the clamp was a little bigger than the bmx bar itself. I’m so happy I found this one here on Amazon. It’s going to be fun cruising around this summer.

This product worked very well. I had low expectations but it allowed me to put BMX bars on my hybrid bike without replacing the quill style gooseneck. It clamps well with no slippage. I am even pulling wheelies without any looseness on the bars. Great product if it is what you need, but do your homework to be sure about the size needed. I used calipers to measure the bars confirm proper sizing of the shim before selecting this item.

These little fellas are expensive but very useful. Had to cut them in half to obtain two pairs as I needed. And 4 stars because of the price.

I bought an 7/8 inch handlebar for my MTB, which has a 1 inch handlebar clamp on the stem; so I ordered this shim. They are about 1-1/2 inch long, 1/16 inch thick, made of alloy, and look solid. As noted they are for adapting 7/8 inch handlebars to 1 inch stems. The outside is ribbed thorughout (not only on two spots like on the picture), and the inside is smooth (which makes sense because the handlebar itself is ribbed). They have a little hole (I guess to drain water that might seep into the stem). The shim fitted perfectly, and so far the handlebar sits as firm and solid as it can be!I noticed some confusion in other reviews about the term "pair". "Pair" refers to the two halves as shown in the picture, and both are sold as together in a package as a single item- like "a pair of socks" is a left and a right sock, sold together in a single package! These are great! I bought a set for actually for a 2001 Kawasaki W650 motorcycle instead of a bicycle. The 1 set was large enough (approximately 2 inches wide) that I was able to cut them in half and make use of each half elsewhere. The fit and finish were exceptional. For such a low dollar investment, there is great value in this product vs. having to either spend tens/hundreds of dollars on custom handlebars and controls or machining existing ones. They are relatively pliable and adapt easily to your existing contours. The grooves add just the right amount of friction. In several months of nearly daily commuting since I've mounted them, not once have the bars, or controls for that matter, even given the feeling of shifting or coming lose. They're rock solid.
