This does have most of the features I wanted. But…The bird sound effects sound like someone is killing an owl, there is no snooze option, turning off the alarm and light are different buttons which is are difficult to differentiate when you just wake up and the room is dark. This isn’t “smart” in any way. You can’t program the alarm to only go off on certain days so you have to remember to shut it off on days off. Very difficult to follow instructions, no instructions for 1/2 or more of the features.The plus is that it does have a few pleasant sounds, the sunlight feature does work well, it does pretty much what I needed and wanted it to do after programming frustrations.

The gentle warm LED light of the alarm clock does seem to make a difference in the less alarming way I’d normally wake up with a loud alarm clock. It’s programmable with various modes and you can set it to not turn on, on certain days like the weekends. The display brightness is also adjustable. It’s powered by USB though it has been turned off during some black out and brown outs and does not lose memory or the time, so there does seem to be a small amount of backup built into the device. If you want a normal alarm sound that is also something that can be enabled, it’s a gentle beeping sound similar to the gentle action of the light.
