Works as advertised. Used to get beat location for cell phone booster antenna. Also, fun to just use around town to see where the good signal and dead spots are located.

IF this had T- mobile Identifications in it would get a 5 star plus rating! I'd even pay $50 more for it if it did !I end up setting up cellular M2M IOT SCADA systems for remote remeadiation sites that have no other means of connectivity. I t's perfect for alignment of high gain directional antennas that I have to use a lot of the time.

One of the best things about this meter is how responsive it is when you change frequency bands. You don’t have to wait for the meter to establish a reading. It’s nearly instant.Unfortunately, this meter’s AWS range does not read past Block F, so it cannot read Blocks G-J. In my area the best Verizon signal is on Band 66 Blocks H and I, which this meter cannot read. The meter only reads signal strength. It does not read signal quality or s/n ratio. The meter’s Cellular, PCS and AWS ranges provide no carrier specific information. The 700 MHz range is the only one of its four ranges that identify AT&T and Verizon. The meter does not show the receiving Cell ID or any identifying information to tell you which tower it is reading. It’s up to you to figure out the specific blocks of frequencies used by the carriers in your area. If you live in an area served by several different carriers on various bands, it’s difficult to know if the signal the meter is picking up is the one your phone or booster requires. Be prepared to do lots of homework. My phone reports between -103 to -115 dBm on LTE and PCS bands. By comparison, this meter reports between -69 to -85 dBm. That’s a huge difference, although that does not matter if you’re only using the meter to compare the relative difference between signals. For what’s worth, speed tests confirm that my iPhone 13’s signal strength readings taken in field test mode are relatively accurate. This meter may have a design flaw in the way it reads battery strength. With a fresh set of batteries the indicator drops to about 20% within three minutes, although the meter continues to work for a long time even with the low battery indication. I tried alkaline and rechargeable NiMH batteries and got the same result with both types. If you know the band, blocks and frequencies your carrier is using locally, and if they are within this meter’s range, it could be useful to evaluate differences in signal strength.

I bought a cel fi GO-X and Long ranger. You can see the signal strength as you position the antenna. If you don't have one - it is pure guesswork. Now the neighbours want to rent it from me...

Very good for finding your cell signal for your boosters. Works like a charm!!!

BUT, it comes with 1000 mAh AAA NiMH batteries, so what could you expect? I believe the device likes 1.5v batteries better than 1.2v. So I bought 1.5v lithium batteries with 1200mAh capacity. It works much better now. The functions appear to be identical to the more expensive Wilson Pro counterpart. I have used it long enough to be concerned about the battery life and, because I've also used a Wilson meter, I know it's about the same. Good purchase.

If you have a Cellular Booster, this is a must have, along with a WirEng Five Wide Band Directional Antenna to be able to see where the signal is coming from and its strength. If you only have a Directional Antenna: This is Definitely a Must Have!Along with being able to select and Pin Point the direction of the signal, by using the Surecall Portable Five Signal meter, the WirEng Wide Band Antenna increased my signal by 30db, without an amplifier. If a person needs a really strong signal increase, I believe that it would be a terrific combination with the SureCall TriBand Amplifier. Great product! Please note: If you have a 3G, 4G & LTE phone and you need an Amplifier, you need a TriBand Amplifier. Don't get anything else: make sure it is a TriBand amplifier like the SureCall TriBand and If you have a 3G, 4G & LTE phone and you need an antenna, make sure it is a "Wide Band" antenna that covers all of your device's frequencies or band widths.I would definitely recommend this to anyone that has a cell phone and especially those that are "Full Time" RVers and have a cell phone! As the "Ole Saying" in RealEstate says for the value of a home: "Location, Location, Location": Well the point at hand (no pun intended), the meter will show you the "Location, Location, Location" of a Cell Tower and it's Value (Strength)!
