  • Compatibility: Designed to work with 460730, 460732, 460734, 460736, 460805, 460806, SR200NA. SR333NA, SR400NA. SR400HD
  • Assembly (Step 1): Turn off system and all electrical power from the breaker. Remove Drain Plug under the Inlet/Outlet Manifold to drain the heater. Loosen the inlet/outlet piping unions. Unscrew the Thermal Regulator Plug. Remove the Thermal Regulator along with the spring attached to it.
  • Assembly (Step 2): Remove the Inlet/Outlet Manifold by removing the 10bolts holding the Manifold to the tube sheet. Carefully pry the bottom plate off of the Manifold. The manifold O-ring and insert will come off with the bot-tom plate
  • Assembly (Step 3): Remove the baffle plate to gain access to the Internal bypass valve chamber. Remove the bypass valve assembly and replace it with a new one.
  • Assembly (Step 4): To replace the valve, reverse the steps listed above. Use the Swimables bypass to ensure your heater is back up and running in no time!

After much trouble shooting, I determined that the manifold bypass valve and manifold thermostat needed replacing. There's some good videos on YouTube. I would consider myself pretty handy and thankfully the manifold was easily removed and disassembled. The Pentair heater is seven years old. I found quite a bit of debris inside. The job took about 30 minutes. There's not too many ways to mess up the re-assembly, but as always I took lots of pics as I opened it up. For about $50, I got the heater up and running again. While I was at it, I also replaced the 3/4" zinc manifold drain plug (under certain conditions corrosion can occur). I'm sure the pool guys would have charged me over $500 for the same repair.

If your looking at this product, your a pool owner and know how expensive pool repair is. So I took on the project myself and came out with a W. You can too it was maybe a 2 out of 5 in difficulty.If your heater is running but cycles on and off, especially as the spa heats up this could be the issue. I was trying to heat my spa and it would heat for a minuet (longer at first then progressively sooner as the water got warmer) then turn off.Hold down the spa button until the temp is displayed while running the heater, pay attention to how hot the water gets, it my case it was 300+, that's too hot and it cycles off for safety. Turn off the unit and work on it when it's cool, turn off the gas at the valve, duckduckgo videos on how to change it. Earn the admiration of your family and receive a whole punch on your man card.Reminders* Shut off your pool equipment, preferably at the circuit breaker so nothing turns on while your working.* Only work on the heater when It's cool to touch.* Try the easier fixes first. i.e. Thermal Regulator, high limit switch. still fairly cheap and worth a go. worst case you have spare parts for the future.* have good lighting so you can see what your doing* Take photos before you take things apart and remove wires so you can put things back together.
