I purchased this to check a stray cat in my back yard for a chip so I could reunite him with his owners.I checked it against my two indoor cats, and it picked up their chips very fast, and it sensed the chip ID number exactly. It's also light and easy to tuck away when not needed, Recommended.

I tested this on two cats who I knew had chips, and it was not consistently reliable.. I returned it.

I bought this in order to keep my zoo of animals chip numbers on file after we lost a dog (don’t worry we found him!) but realized we did not have this number on file and could not track it down through any of the websites. We also gave fostered a number of animals and found animals that this will be handy for.Worked wonderful immediately giving me feedback for chip number on our 7 animals!

I run a rescue and we use microchip readers all the time. We are always in search of new microchip scanners at a good price.We decided to try this one out and it is great! Of course it is not universal and so it does not pick up Avid chips but it has picked up all the other chips, Fi, home again, nano and more!I would highly recommend thisit is small and easy to store. This charges decently quickly tooThe price is great too!
