I couldn't tell you if this works well or not; after installing, there are no sources to explain simply how to use it and set up a backup schedule. All that comes with it is a little "quick installation" pamphlet with line drawings and no text... and I already know how to plug it in and turn it on, which is pretty much all that's there. So, when you see a plethora of icons and choices and downloads, but there's no source to explain their proprietary terminology, you're pretty much left on your own. A handful of YouTube videos are made BY Tekkies FOR Tekkies, and assume we all speak in acronyms. VERY VERY frustrating. I will need to hire a Tekkie to come in and set this up! Why can't Synology supply an actual user's manual??

Extremely expensive. Synology is the greediest company. This doesn’t even worth $300. Synology with this old configuration is charging 3 times the money it’s actually worth. I built I own NAS 3 times more powerful with 4 2.5g n/w ports and a 10g port with 6 bays and 2 nvm.2

It is truly Amazing reading these Reviewers. Synology made it's business by using very straightforward devices including placing the device year in the Part numbers. One guy crying how old the tech is on a model 923 is beyond him because Amazon only had videos. Then it seems like his brother also replied at how horrible Synology is because he bought off brand OEM components and his unit is so much better. God bless.Synology became a success because of Ease of Use. ISPs were built overnight in 2010-2015 but they have no right to make a profit. HahahaIn 10 years I wonder where these two complainers will be.
