These resistors are more accurate than I was expecting. The 4 that I received had a mean resistance of 8.001 ohm, with a standard deviation of 0.01ohm. Measured at 70.4°F with a calibrated Fluke 289 in 50 ohm range and with lead resistance compensated. Can't speak to how well they handle the full rating of 100 W, but they performed well at 40W on a moderate sized heat sink.

Tulead Yellow Wirewound Resistors:Seem to be high quality and built to last.I used them to build a dummy load and mounted them on an additional heat sink with a 12v cooling fan.Time will tell how long the last, but so far thew are working well.

Nice tight tolerance in my set, nothing to complain about. Note that these will need to be bolted to a fairly large heat sink with heat sink compound to actually dissipate 100W. Without a heat sink they might be good for 25W or so. Measured values:7.9557.9567.9877.999

Perfect for “dummy” loads while working on amplifiers and receivers. Great value for the money!

Bought these to make a diy amplifier load tester, and they seem to be doing the job fine so far. Each one measured almost exactly the same, just over 2.1 Ω, which is technically outside the 5% tolerance, but let's be honest, you're paying $10 for 4 giant 100 watt resistors. At that price I'm just glad the things haven't exploded lol. I mounted them to some scrap chunks of thick aluminum in order to act as a heat sink, as the resistor housings may handle 100 watts intermittently, but not for extended periods.

The price of the power resistors were very reasonable. And they did the trick as far as what I was using them for! And the time it has taken for shipping was very, very reasonable! I would buy more of them if I needed more!

All measured close to the 4 Ohms!Seems really good resistors! 100 watts!

As most buyers have done, I first measured the value of these resistors. Measurements were very basic with a 0.2% 4-1/2 digit DMM that I calibrate with my own references. Compensating for lead resistance these measured: 4.00, 4.00, 4.00 and 4.01ohms. Whaat? Checked them again and same values. These are way, way too accurate for $10, but that’s the data. The downside is in power handling (I’m speculating slightly here). I have other power resistors made by Dale ranging from 5 to 250 watts capacity, and they are all substantially larger, per watt, than these. I tested the Tulead resistors with a very large heatsink, clamping directly on the resistor bodies (not using the screw holes) and with thermal compound. At 150 watts into all 4 (series) continuously for around 5 minutes, I measured 120 degrees F on the sink and estimate maybe 130 on the top of the resistor body. 400 watts with this arrangement would be pushing it, even with a fan. For shorter term power or pulsed testing these Tulead units will be fine, but be mindful that it’s a lot of heat in a comparably small package. I will run some tests with a fan and try 200, 300 and (very briefly) 400 watts. Update to follow.
