  • Strong, rigid, non-glare, anodized aluminum backing plate.

The Slimline SideSaddle provides convenient placement of shells, right where you need them for a fast reload. It utilizes a non-glare, anodized aluminum backing plate material traditional to the SideSaddle, but the plate is contoured so that it takes up less space on the receiver and has fewer areas that could potentially snag. Additionally, shell carrier itself is constructed of proprietary flexible, synthetic rubber material, which offers durability and weather resistance as well as secure shell retention. The shell carrier also is small in size, adding to its sleek appearance. For 12 gauge only.

This is my 14th Tacstar side saddle I have bought for my Mossberg shotguns and still have them all and they have all functioned flawlessly weather it be the 2 3/4 shells or the mini shells they stay in the saddle without any worry, during hunts, or drills and training. I absolutely recommend this side saddle over any other brands side saddle

Perfect fit on my Mossberg 500. It came with a practice "snap cap" which is super cool! Also came with all the hardware needed to mount it. Highly recommend for the price! I will for sure be buying another one for my 870 Wingmaster. Also, other Reviews show the shell holders. Being rubber. This one is hard plastic with rubber inserts and have great shell retention.

Works great on my mossy 590. One of the holders is a bit loose for my liking, but I suppose that'll be the first one that gets used! Adds a little weight but that's why I don't miss arm day. (leg day is another story)

This seemed like a pricy item for the basic function of holding shells but this is totally worth it. It is sturdy, mounts perfectly on a 590 (specifically a shockwave), and holds the shells securely. Don't make a mistake by buying something cheaper because this is what you should get. Mounting hardware fits perfectly, installation instructions were clear. Keep in mind this is all plastic but seems thoroughly durable and, more importantly, doesn't add weight.

Mounted on a Mossberg Maverick 88, shells are easy to remove and install, nice to carry extra shells for target shooting.

Fits the 12 gauge 870 great, but the walls of the slots are a little on the slim side.If dropped on a rock, etc, I could easily picture them breaking.I was expecting something a little sturdies for the price, but it does work.

Product came with one snap cap, wasn't expecting that...so nice touch. Shells fit perfect, no issues like those mentioned in previous reviews so maybe they fixed that. The sidesaddle and mounting hardware was high quality. Installation was under 10 mins. Very happy with this product and would highly recommend this product. BTW...using on a Mossberg Maverick 88.

I've got this mounted on my Maverick 88. Installation was pretty easy (I'm a novice shotgun user). The flexible hard plastic that holds the shells are rather stiff. I've read suggestions to apply a little bit of Vaseline on the inside, then shove the brass of shells all the way through the carrier so that the plastic stretches just a bit. The practice shell that comes with it doesn't have a large brass, so it's easy to pull out of carrier. Regular shells, if pushed all the way in, are much more difficult to pull out.I used this side saddle at the range. If you don't shove the shells all the way, they become easy to pull out with average effort. I would not recommend these for speed shooting. I'd recommend these for a secure hold if you are expecting to run with the shotgun or swing it around. The shells will NOT come loose or fall out. This side saddle will for sure hold your shells in, plus will not deteriorate like elastic does.I'm very happy with this purchase and will not seek to replace it. I will only recommend the elastic shell carriers if you plan on speed reloading.Note: I purchased this item around the same time my wife purchased this item for me also. Fortunately, my item got lost in the mail, so the customer service was very proactive and offered a replacement or refund. I took the refund, but was so impressed with the shell holder I had to write this review.

Works perfect! Very well built and holds shells perfectly. Shells can be a bit tight in the slots but just leave some shells in the slots with a few wraps of electrical tape around then to stretch them abit. Then they fit perfect after about a week.

Decided to try it because it looked so similar to the Mesa Tactical version, but it's half the price. Just got it about an hour ago, got it out of the packaging and loved the size and design. The installation was a little odd with the 2 piece screws but I got it on my 870 and thought it was going to be perfect. When I tried to place a 2-3/4 00 buck into one of the loops it absolutely would not go in. I had to set the gun down on a table and use both hands to get it in the loop, and every type of shell I tried after that was the same. I know I could try to leave the shells in the loops for a while and see if they stretch, or try sanding or drilling the loops out, but I shouldn't have to do anything with a brand new item. Especially one that's supposed to be part of something meant to defend/save my life or others, so I'm not going to bother screwing around with it. Returned.
