Relatively easy to follow. As a beginner it’s still difficult but the animals are so cute it’s worth a try! A bit on the cheap side for the yarn but for a stuffed animal it will work fine!

I am a sea creature loving fool, also, new to crocheting. I have purchased several of these different kits in order to get some experience and hone in my technique. I absolutely love Dolphins, they are my number one marine life that I collect so I figured this kit would fit in well with my collection of all things marine life. I absolutely LOVED this kit. It comes with everything you need to complete the project and I would definitely buy more kits from this company, they really do focus on people who are just beginning making it very simple to follow the instructions. If you are an expert, this is a quick yet really cute set to do! I hope you find this review helpful!

I got this for my sister as a gift. She is recently retired and I thought she might enjoy this as she is a skilled crocheter. I was right! She loved it! It had everything she needed to start and complete the project. She ended up making the little dolphins for her granddaughter who was wild about them and is now on to making more and more Amigurumi figures from yarn. Once she got started, the kit didn't take her long to complete at all. Probably a bit longer if you're new to crochet but once you learn the stitches, nothing can hold you back!

This is a great beginners set because if you can't follow crochet written instructions, there are video ones to follow. You just use the QR code on the inside page of the project instructions to get to them (as there are also beginner instructional videos and a written instructional packet included in this kit too).There is even a white tester spool of yarn included (marked- for tester) and if you are a beginner I encourage you to practice first as this is not the best yarn to make mistakes more than twice on- because as you pull them out, the yarn gets harder to work with (and that all depends on the quality of yarn included in a kit and while this is very workable yarn, it is not the best for beginners hence the tester yarn in the set).There is a 2.5 size needle included in the kit and I have found that this size needle works well with this size and type of yarn (however others may feel differently). The eyes included for the two dolphins you make are larger and better than other kits I have reviewed (however not the best of the best, which is a rarity in kits like this). Markers are included as well as a metal needle which is nice, as I find them easiest to work with (over the plastic ones).Of course there are markers included in this kit, and a note for beginners- these help you know where your first stitch of a row starts (as they go in your first stitch of each row). I encourage beginners to use them as they helped me a lot to learn and keep rows and counts right.You will also find stuffing for your two projects included and it is vacuum sealed upon arrival and unpacking your kit. Once you open it, the package puffs up and gets larger, so you may want to store it somewhere else- even if it is a closed grocery bag (as you don't want anything, dirt or dust to get into your stuffing bag)- unless you have waited to stuff both projects at once (which you probably won't do).I love that this kit includes two keyrings you can attach- many of the little animals and characters I make with other kits I have reviewed like this, once done, I don't know what to do with them. Of course they are fun to have on display but the fact that I can turn these guys into keyrings once finished- means I don't have to look for a spot in the house for them (just spots on others and my keyring ;). Also, the keyrings that I included, I find, are very nice quality ones- you can see them in the photos that I provided- in the bag with the needles and markers.A cute and fun project, a great one for beginners- I only encourage them to use the tester yarn included and review the written and video beginners instructions- which are set apart from the individual project ones- before they begin. You may have to try a magic ring several times before you get it- and I definitely wouldn't start on project yarn until this is mastered. But once you do, all should fall into place. I wish you luck and fun with this kit- as I can't wait to begin myself (if and when I can find the time thou ;).

Got this for my teen daughter to learn. Instructions are kinda hard to follow.

I gave this crochet kit as a Christmas gift, and it was a hit! The kit includes everything you need to create three adorable little dogs—perfect for a beginner. The instructions were clear, and having all the tools included made it super convenient.The only hiccup was that one of the yarns frayed while working on it, so we’ll need to replace that color to finish. Still, the quality of the other materials and the charm of the final products make this a great choice for anyone wanting to learn crochet. A thoughtful, creative gift idea!

The hook is super small. I’ve crocheted before and I couldn’t use the provided yarn and hook. I resorted to using my own and attempting to follow the pattern. The video instructions are difficult to follow too. I wish there was a video on step by step start to end to follow to complete the project. I even took a beginner crochet class at my local library and even the instructor said the yarn and hook would be very difficult for a beginner. I eventually got frustrated and sort of followed, sorta improvised and came up with what my daughter calls Winkle. Took me a day to make this with stops and plenty of rewinding the video, plenty of trying on different yarns.

Very cute and looks like will be fun to make - if I ever get to that level as I'm a TRUE beginner.
