The Talley Model 700-721-722-725-40X is a unique scope mount made of one-piece construction. The lightweight unitized design eliminates the possibility of an \"out of alignment\" interface or \"loose connection\" between the ring and base of traditional two piece designs. Ultimately this provides more strength and durability than rival steel rings and bases but doing it with a lighter overall weight. By extruding the 7000 series alloy known for its durability then precision CNC machining the mount to its final design, it provides the strongest, lightest mount system on the market.

Customer service for Talley is always fantastic. They helped me pick these for my individual setup and after installing them I couldn't have picked better myself. Installation was effortless, no doubt due to the high quality machining with which their products are made. Will definitely be coming to Talley first in the future!

There a tall ring that is working well with my 56mm lens on my new scope. It has a good objective height. Adjustable to allow objective relief. They also look great with the new scope on my very old hunting rifle.

I have several of these scope mounts. Very strong, secure and lighter than most!

These are decent rings, and I like the one piece design. But they do need some lapping. When you get them clamped down on your scope you will see light coming through. That's not a big deal if you going to professionally mounted or you have your own mounting kit... But it's just a note.

Im beyond glad I found these rings, nobody can compete with these. They are the lightest, by far the strongest and most reliable, best looking and are extremely well made, and are CHEAPER than buying separate bases/rings. The one piece base/bottom ring is the strongest and best design. The alloy they use is as light as aluminum but much stronger. The rings weigh 1.2oz for lows and 1.4 oz for meduim height(per ring including caps and all hardware) For a real life measurment the height difference between the low and mediums is 7/64" (or just under a 1/8"). The height of the base part (that extends out from under the ring for the second screw to the action) is the same thickness for all heights! It will not be thinner with the lower rings. I mounted a leupold vx6 2-12x42 onto my new rem 700 CDL 7MM mag (mag barrel countor/slightly thicker) and its perfect with the low 30mm rings. The mediums were just too high and couldve easily mounted a 50mm obj scope. I will never buy any other rings. Oh and the machining is PERFECT checked with alignment bars after mounting and these did NOT require ANY lapping.

These rings are an excellent fit for my scope+rifle (Remington 700 LR tactical in .308 Winchester, with a Nikon Buckmaster II 4-12, 40mm scope). I selected the "low" mount, which brings the 40mm objective lens within just over a nickel's thickness of the barrel. Being able to mount directly to the receiver body avoids the complication of a bulky pic rail getting in the way of the ejection port, which is a major plus IMHO. All screws are included and fit without issue. Some extra stuff you should pick up to do a proper scope mount:1) Removable thread locker (blue LocTite). ALWAYS use thread locker on the base screws, NEVER use thread locker on the ring-clamp screws.2) Gun oil (duh) for the contact surface between the bases and receiver.3) A few small (but precise) levels to make sure scope reticle, rings, and barrel are all as level as possible during mounting. I added a Sinclair scope level on my scope with the aim of it remaining in place during actual use; this can be part of your set of mounting levels.4) A scope ring lapping bar set+abrasive paste to lap the rings into alignment after mounting the bases (I personally have the ). The inner bearing surfaces of the scope rings are a flat matte, but as with any two-piece ring set, the rings will almost certainly NOT be in alignment after mounting until they've been lapped.5) A little rosin powder to increase grip friction between the scope and rings.6) A set of feeler gauges, so you can make sure each ring cap is tightened to uniform gaps on both sides.7) A torque wrench/screwdriver and a set of Torx bits, capable of accurately measuring 10-25 in/lb (I torqued all screws to 20 in/lb with no problems). Some of Wheeler's lapping-bar sets include a suitable torque wrench; I personally use a .Lapping the scope rings, adding rosin powder, and getting them torqued correctly is actually super-important, especially if you're dealing with a heavy-recoil magnum caliber. Otherwise you'll either damage your scope body getting it held firmly in place, or it will tend to shift forward with each shot.

High quality solid scope mounts/rings. For height reference, the "Low" rings work just fine with a Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40mm scope on a Remington CDL 700 rifle, with what appears to be a little over an 1/8" of clearance to spare. The closest fit is between the bolt handle and the eyepiece. There's even more room to spare between the objective end of the scope and the rifle barrel.Just enough fore/aft scope adjustment room for the rings with my particular scope. I'm near the limit of how far back it can go when setting eye relief. If your scope has a shorter tube, it could be an issue.I'll definitely buy these again, and would recommend them to anyone. These Talley scope mounts get a lot of recommendations - for good reason.A great scope mount for a price that doesn't hurt.
