The throne is extremely well made. Very sturdy. However, if you’re a short drummer this might be too high for comfort. There’s no way to make the seat low enough for my legs be be at a comfortable angle. But, if you’re average height, or tall this should work great!!

my first chair was the DW 4 legger with backrest at $400. lasted 9 years. 4 legger "too stable" when not on perfectly flat indoors--using on ground causes imbalance, and cracked the base's locking nut on the stem. the replacement base alone is $400. so, alternatively i bought the $280 3 legger whole chair, I reused the hardware from the 4 legger (directly bolts on) and put the backrest on this 3 legger. the 6 bolt plate aligns perfectly.

I have two of these thrones, one is over 15 years old and still solid as a rock despite heavy usage, and a new model that I purchased to have one on the home-studio kit. Of all of the thrones I've ever had, this is the only model that doesn't cause my butt to go numb or give me back pain. I can work on these thrones for literally hours at a time without any pain or discomfort, while some thrones I am forced to use on rehearsal kits are so bad that I must at least stand up every twenty minutes to get the circulation back to my legs and butt. These thrones allow me to play even as much as 6 hours or more without discomfort at all!Don't skimp on your drum throne. Get a quality unit. Stability and comfort are CRUCIAL to being able to perform.

I’ve been using this model for years. My last throne survived for almost 15. With that said, I decided it was time for a new one. By far the build is so much better. Most definitely sturdy and stable. And the saddle seat feels like it has a better memory foam. Overall these are probably the best in my opinion. Look... don’t be cheap when it comes to these things. Invest the money. Thrones like this will last for years. Hopefully this helps you.

...because of the way it looks- but you'll be able to play for hours because of how comfortable this throne is. It's probably the best throne in fit, build and comfort. I've had a round throne all my playing life and preferences are personal; I never liked the bike or saddle seat; this seat is more of a hybrid; slight contour for the thigh but not set back; it has a subtle, almost imperceptible sculpting in the "seat" unlike a saddle or bike type.First time I sat on it, my whole body said: "Yep".

Dumb, giant logo on back of seat. Seems like will break in eventually, but hard when new.
