I got this to use on musical instrument repairs. It seems to be solid brass on the actual scale but the handle is hollow plastic and seems kind of cheap. The accuracy not is not adequate for my purposes. It's a little bit clunky to use, but the price was okay.

I didn’t know I needed this until I used it! You use it to measure the depth/height of a gap. I found myself needing it the day after I got it. Usually I would take a ruler or tape measure and eyeball the gap. Now, with this tool, I get an exact measure and there’s a sliding indicator to lock in your measurement. Terrific little tool, recommended.
