This Kujunpao brand piston ring squaring tool is a simple device that makes quick and accurate positioning of a piston ring so that you can measure the ring gap, and adjust if necessary. In an engine with flat-top pistons I would just use a piston to align the ring in the bore, but for engines with pistons that have dishes or domes you need a different way, and this tool is it.What they call a plug gauge we call a feeler gauge, and one is included to measure your ring gaps. The squaring tool insures the ring is level in the bore, and is not cocked. Even being cocked a small amount can affect the ring gap, and mess up your measurements, thus the need for the tool. The tool covers a large range of bore sizes, from 2.5 inches to 5 inches. Chances are small that the average mechanic will run into anything outside of that range.

I needed a set of feeler gauges for setting the lashing on my adjustable rocker arms. These are a great set and worked great. I'm sure I'll use them many times in the future. Thanks!
