Years ago one burner on my very old (about 50 years old) range quit working, and sometime after that I asked a handyman if he could fix it. He informed me that there was no way to fix it. Recently while I was looking for something else, I found this replacement burner here on Amazon, and I was also able to find the booklet that came with my built-in range when it was new. I made a note of the model number and found that this burner is the correct one. It didn't require any tools or any super-human strength to replace the old burner. Voila! It works, and now I have another burner I can use.

My Tappan range now is back to normal and the pans now sit level on the element again, not like with the elements I have bought from the hardware stores not noting Tappan on the packaging. This was a good purchase. It came on time, too.

The elements were stuffed into a padded envelope with insufficient padding inside and then stuffed into my small mailbox. I was very concerned they would be damaged.They work, but don't fit as well as I would like.

It fit our old stove fine and works well. No messing around with poor fit. Time will tell about the quality, but I'm not expecting any negative surprises.

The small one don't quite fit. The originals did.

I reviewed these all in one review, they are great, fit the stove better than the originals, cost was unbelievably cheap compared to Sears prices . I bought all four elements and four drip pans for only 20.00 more than I paid sears for the replacement drip pans years ago.

I had checked on Amazon a few months back and had only found one burner for three times this price, and I wasn't sure it would fit. So I called the appliance repair and they couldn't find an exact match. I was suppose to bring in an old burner and then special order and it too was going to be very expensive. So I never got around to it. Then, probably because I cook everything on high, my third burner went, and I was down to just one.Then I found these. They are inexpensive, I got free shipping, they arrived in less than a week and they work. One thing: Take off the white sticky in the center of the burner. I thought it was a decoration, but it actually lights on fire.
